Up here it's -14 degrees Celsius at the moment. I don't think I'll go skiing today after all...

with only -10 degrees celsius here I should be sweating like a pig then! :p

Fahrenheit ... that's the system we use over here.  It's 14 Degrees F ... right now !  And will be colder tomorrow !  Need to sleep with a friend to stay warm ... but ... oh ... never mind !      :{

Indeed...along with miles, inches, ounces, pounds, quarts and gallons. ?That stuff isnt taught anywhere else (except miles in UK- but then they invented it so I can see why they hold onto it)! ?Sea miles are still used because it refers to the distance subtended by 1 degree of latitude so it is still relevant

The metric system seems to work well for the rest of the civilised world though :D

I'm wondering why you went to a decimenal currency rather than sticking with pounds and shillings-everything else you have is Imperial system! :;):

If you really want to start a fun jibing session we can start talking about spelling and the Queen's (not the President's) English- it would be very coloUrful no doubt ?:laugh:

Ah the metric system. I remember the first time I visited a country that uses the metric system and saw shoe sizes in milimeters. Very odd.  :O

I'm all for the Metric System !  We used it in the Army and it worked !  I'd like to see the 24 Hour Clock System too !  :;):

I did read somewhere that honour and colour were more the French way of spelling, whereas the color and honor were the correct English way of spelling those words historically!
