New Eldar units from IA11

I thought it would be a good idea to collect allstats of the new Eldar units from Imperial Armour 11 in one thread.


According to Imperial Armour 11 i would give the Eldar Phantom Titan the following stats:

OR (Fist Mounted Starcannons) (15cm) Small Arms Extra Attacks (+1)
OR (Fist Attack) (Base contact) Assault Weapon Extra Attacks (+3) Titan Killer (D3)

Damage Capacity 8. Critical Hit Effect: The holofield projectors mounted on the Phantom's wings is badly damaged and will no longer work. The Phantom loses its holofield save for the rest of thebattle. Any further critical hit will cause an additional point of damage.

Notes: Reinforced Armour, Holofield, Fearless, Walker.. May step over units and impassable or dangerous terrain that is lower than the Titan's knee and up to 2cm wide. Nay be arned with two weapons. The Phantom`s weapon may fire all round due tothe Titan's exceptional manouverability.

Notes: Skimmer. The Aether Rift confers the ignore cover ability to the units firefight value.

Eldar Lynx

Weapon Range Firepower Notes
Lynx Pulsar 60cm 2 x MW3+ Fixed Forward Arc
Shuriken Cannon 30cm AP5+ -

Damage Capacity 2. Critical Hit Effect: The Lynx’s gravitic drives implode, sucking nearby troops into an energy maelstrom. The Lynx is destroyed and any model within 5cm of the model suffer one hit on a roll of 6.

Notes: Reinforced Armour, Skimmer.

Or considering that the Malcador is a DC2 WE in Wh40k but is now an AV in Epic:

Was this meant as a comparison to Swordwind stats?

Presumably an official GW EA rulebook takes precedence over a FW W40K rulebook....

i think maybe BL was just throwing ideas and thought about, not actually implying anything ?
Some of the changes listed are interesting though. and some are pretty extreme.

I think it`s best to politely ignore suggestions to change existing epic units like the Phantom, but most of what BL lists are new units, without epic stats, so discussion of stats for them is appropriate and useful, particularly since good proxies may well appear.

I imagine we could make a variant list for the new craftworld from the book, including these new units, along with possibly an Eldar Corsairs list since the book delves into them as well.

I apologise- when I first looked at this thread I just saw the Eldar Phantom stats and I wondered why. There would be no point in using something FW came up with for W40K to justify overturning a long established EA stats.

I had nt noticed the other units which BL has added since- So yes would be appropriate to discuss them. And would be certainly interesting to incorporate some of these new units in future Eldar army lists.

These units came up a while ago in another thread. After Blacklegion's initial 40k translations, we modified them to something more playable:

---Personally I wanted FF6+ because AT weapons rarely grant good FF, but was overridden by popular opinion. Ghost light could drop to 3+ if testing showed them to be underpowered.

----Personally I'd suggest 3 Hornets for a lesser price would be far easier to balance
Note that the only resin weapons this model comes with by default in 40k are pulse lasers.

Not sure the new walker is different enough from the war walker to warrant statting.

A DC8 Phantom is obviously a non-starter without changing major rules (like changing holofields to 4+ for example) but the weapon stats and available configurations are good to see and could inform development in the Titan clan army list.

@wargame_insomniac: Sorry there. I just edited in the other units as i realised that a thread only for the Phantom would do no good :)

Yup the Puslar of the Lynx is essentialy the same as the Scorpion and Revenants use. The Phantom has a more powerful version.

The new Wasp Assault Walker is just the same as the War Walker. But it exchanges the Scout ability for Wasp Jet Packs.

As for the DC of the Phantom: The Wh40k Warlod has 9 DC and 14/14/13 armor. The Wh40k Phantom has 8 DC and 13/13/11 armor As well as Enhanced Eldar Titan Holofields. Eldar Titan Holofield grant an 4+ InvulnerableSave while moving. The Enhanced one also works while the Phantom doesn't move and also makes the Phantom only to hit on a 6 in CC. While moving the InvSave turns to 3+.
Driver Stunned and Driver SHaken damage results are also ignored on a 3+ due to Spirit Guides.
And he is actually faster than a non-jumping Revenant.

Wh40k stats for the weapons:
Phantom Pulsar Range 120", Strenght D, Armourpiercing 1, Heavy 4, 5" Blast, Primary Weapon
Phantom D-Cannon Range 72", Strenght D, Armourpiercing 2, Ordnance 1, 10" Blast, Barrage, Primary Weapon
The Phantom D-Cannon bypasses Powerfields and Void Shields.
Phantom Missile Launcher Range 12-48", Strenght 8, Armourpiercing 3, Heavy 4
Phantom AA Laucher Range 12-48", Strenght 7, Armourpiercing 3, Heavy 4, AA Mount
Phantom StarcannonRange 12-48", Strenght 6, Armourpiercing 2, Heavy 4

The Titan CC Weapon has a twin-linked Phantom Starcannon

whilst I'd obviously love to field a Phantom with those stats, I think leaving the current one as is and going with the stats E&C posted for the other units would be a better idea. It's great to get inspiration for new units from the IA and FW stuff, they still need to fit within the EA universe :)

AT4+ and FF5+ is anything but underpowered. Granted they may not be worth it provided actual points but that still wouldnt make it underpowered, just overpriced.
I haven't play tested this but right off the bad this doesnt feel out of kilter (or as I put it, my "hold up there budday" impluse was not triggered)

Aye I don't think they're too far out, but it's worth remembering that they'll be double-moving most of the time, unless popping out of Gatesq.

For comparison:
Pulsar Range 60", Strenght D, Armourpiercing 2, Heavy 2, 5" Blast, Primary Weapon
Distortion Cannon Range 48", Strenght D, Armourpiercing 2, Ordnance 1, 10" Blast, Barrage, Primary Weapon
The Distortion Cannon bypasses Powerfields and Void Shields.

So the Phantoms Pulsar has double the range, Armourpiercing 1 (this gives +1 on vehicle damage shart) and double the number of shots.
The Phantom D-Cannon has +24" range. Btw both D-Cannons have "Barrage". That would be IndirectFire in Epic.

The Revenant is armed with two Pulsars. The Scorpion and Vampire Hunter have a twin-linked Pulsar . The Lynx has a single Pulsar.
