Hi

Sorting through my old Titans to work out what I have for TOEG. I am doing Blood Angels with Titan support. For Titans I am using old Mars pattern figures - i.e. plastic Beatleback Warlords and old metal Reavers and Warhounds. First up I need to model some standard configuration Warlords and Reavers so I can use basic rulebook list.

I will need two Turbo Laser Destructors for each standard Warlord and Reaver that I build. I have enough metal TLD's to model up a pair of standard Reavers. However I don't have enough to model any of the standard Warlords- either the old metal TLD that came with Reaver/Warhound or the new metal TLD that comes with current GW Warlord.

So I need suitable alternative TLD's. I have a few of the old plastic Warlord weapons- I was thinking of using the old plastic laser blaster (from the original plastic Warlord box set) to represent TLD's on Mars pattern Warlord Titans.

For reference the laser blaster is top right in 3rd picture in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=19255&hilit=titan+laser+blaster

Do you think anyone would have a problem with this if I turned up with this model at a tournament? (For the avoidance of confusion it would be all or nothing- so all plastic laser blasters would count as TLD's).

Thanks

James

Tournaments count titans with CCW's and Corvus pods as standard config, so I doubt you'll have any problem.

Also if i count laser blasters as TLD's then it makes it easier to comply with any Titan Carapace Weapon restrictions when I get around to fielding variant configurations.

Actually, another thing to do would be to ask if anyone has some spare TLD's, for example i think I have some.

How well would metal TLD's fit on old plastic Warlord?

What are you after in trade?

Cheers

As a different question- what base size are recomended for various Imperial Titans?

From looking at GW website it looks as if the current SG Warlord and SG Reaver are both sold on 50mm round bases. And the current SG Warhound looks as if it is sold on 40mm round base.

Thanks

James

How about choppping the barrels of one of these and gluing them onto the laser blaster body instead of the original barrels?

Fits with the idea that FW reavers have triple barrelled turbolasers these days and doesn't look terribly out of place next to the old SG reaver turbo Lasers. Just call them a different pattern.

Thanks WMN- I don't have any of those and would have to swap for them.
I do like the 3 barrelled look. I had thought that 3 barrels was for laser blaster rather than TLD but I guess the names change over time.

Cheers

James

Tripled barrelled turbo lasers is indeed what a laser blaster looks like now.

I think the base that you see on the SG warlord / reaver are 60mm and slightly thinner than the usual GW bases. Because they're easier to get hold of, I go for the standard 60mm round (i.e. dreadnought base) for reaver and warlord, 40mm round for warhounds

Perfect- then I can happily use the plastic laser blasters to represent TLD's on the beatleback Warlords. And eventually get hold of some of the new style triple-barrelled ones to represent actual Laser Blasters.

Cheers

James

great- I have several of the new thin 60mm bases that I can use on my SG Raevers, leaving the old style bases with void shield trackers for the plastic Warlords. And I have some 40mm round bases too so that is my Warhounds sorted.

Cheers

James

If you want to avoid chopping up Exterminators, then we'll have Behemoth weapons hitting the stores soon enough.
