Amazing. I'll see these at Adepticon, I hope?

Very cool, really like the rail gun conversion, hadn't noticed it was a tau part :P

Try huffing your breath over the applied supper-glue/other part before sticking them together, added moisture.

I'm more and more convinced by the baking powder method. Baking powder + Superglue ~ poor man's green stuff. Certainly adds tooth and a bit of gap-filler for the glue.

really nice work, how do you get your decals to blend in so well with the models without the normal decal shine?

I think he mentioned he's using Micro Set and Micro Sol.

Yep, a coat of Set goes down before I put them on. I then do 2-3 coats of Sol to make them conform to the shields (allowing time to dry in between). After that I go back with Mech. Red around the edges and then highlight it with 2 lighter reds and an orange.

I've got a bottle of each, but still haven't used them. I've never heard a bad review though.

No painting this week, Monday was taken up by conversion and putty work. I finished the conversions I wanted to do on my Silverhelm Command. A gold star to the first person who can spot them all!

Image

I converted up a General as well. I was originally going to go with a the Tyrion model from the SoC character pack but was pretty underwhelmed with the model once I got my hands on it. The sculpting definitely isn't on the same level as the original WM elves. I ended up putting the top of a Griffon Riders helm on one of the character pack Silverhelms. I'm going to try resculpting the eye detail over the weekend, we'll see how that goes. I think it's pretty close to the Warhammer Tryion model, just with more barding. And in 10mm...

Finally, a quick conversion I did last night to see if it'll actually work before I do a trade for the parts. I put an Ork SM2 Battlewagon turret barrel on an SM/TL Chaos Havoc. Works for me.

Dave,

Is this a trick?
1) You've put the dragon helm on the champion in place of the horse helm;
2) You've replaced the Celtic banner horse with the banner topper from one of the two HE spearmen banners.
3) You've added a pennant to the banner pole

Regards,

Cory ( a fellow WarMaster collector)

Nope, no trick. You get a gold star!

The Silver Helms and Reavers are progressing. I started on the horse flesh this week, and have moved on to the manes/tails. Next week I'll be washing them and starting on the armor/cloth hopefully.

Look nice. I wouldn't go to the trouble of multiple skin tones on my Cav, but that's why your army looks better than mine do.

Only the Silver Helms got attention this week (the Reavers might have to wait as I'm planning on working on some terrain for HAVOC as well). I finished up their manes and started in on the silver touch-up and wash.

I'm planning on working on the other strip tonight (and going back an hitting the feet that I forgot on the first) and then carefully drybrushing them silver one more time for a highlight. Then we move on to the white.

Image

I finished up the putty work on my commander too. You can't tell from the picture but he now has eyes and the eagle on his helmet looks more like a dragon now. You'll just have to trust me :P. Since they're pretty much Silver Helms I'm going to be playing catch up with these guys so I can finish them up at the same time. The banner bearer was drying silver while this picture was taken.

Finally, a quick tangent. The lady likes Ticket to Ride so this is going to be a surprise for Valentine's Day. Romantic, no? He (Dexter) and the Alien (Alvin) might get little bows on their heads to girly them up if I can find something that'll work.

In case anyone noticed, I found the missing Berzerker (or rather the HE Command did).
