Neat :)

was going to ask where you got such nice roads from, then saw they cost real monies, eew :( :D

I've tried shrinking some of the wizards stuff, wood hut worked well, but colours don't match the above, too saturated (could easily Photoshop mind)

What about printing the roads onto fabric?

Is there a fabric I could run through my printer?

Here's the thing regarding the roads:

6 pages of cobblestone
2 pages of dirt
6 pages of paved
1 page of sidewalks
1 page of transitions

Good for anything from ancient to modern, and I can fudge them for 6mm certainly, and 15mm maybe. I never have to buy them again, no matter how many I print. For five bucks? Hell yes.

Also, I can't believe after three days I misattributed these to Dave - sorry Apoc.

Dave - I'll get a pic for scale later, though if you have the warmaster article with the christmas army in it, it was done by the same guy an has some as the backdrop

*googles*

think you can also buy 'special' fabric for it. Note this is for inkjet NOT LASER. Not tried myself, was just considering options, as i too am interested :)

No problem, more thanks to whoever made the nets in the first place. The penny has finally dropped that you wanted these for 10mm not 6mm anyway ::) :-[ :P

Try weighting the roads with pennies.

also this http://cqmagonline.com/vol04iss02/artic ... ndex.shtml
printing it onto 'freezer paper' with laser then iron transferring it, seems there are a range of options. I've put tracing paper through inkjets with mixed results*, but I think id get in a fair bit of trouble trying to put it through the lasers i have access to :P

*either works perfectly or jams and tears and rips and shreds and sticks inside the printer,r covered in ink, ensuring that the next 50 pages you print has strange streaks of unwanted colours all over them.

No, no, I wanted both. We're playing WMA in 6mm with Baccus, so while not strictly historically accurate, the 6mm give me a good start while I find/decide if I want other terrain.

A good range of options there for further experiments, I'll look into them.

Apropos of nothing, if (more likely when, given the rate of design at the Otterforge) I make a Space Marine army, I've decided it will be in blue, with red or orange helmets. They shall be the Nac Mac Feegle - the Wee Free Marines.

Fear not, Helge: I plan to get another run of the Warbarque cast done tomorrow, though I still need to finish the turrets. Hopefully I'll be able to get a good mold this time.

Can anyone tell me if I can press mold in regular silicone? Looking to, erm, breed Warmaster Rat Swarms, and am not sure if I should use anything special or not.

I tried it with 732 RTV silicone and it was a disaster.... this was with some 6mm eldar models.... you might get away with oyumaru or green stuff..... are these things double sided?

No but they do have some undercuts, or I'd just do them in GS. You can find the gene pool here.

They come in six 20mm x 20mm (approx.) panels, the two that have undercuts I'm concerned with are the one with the Packmaster, and the one in the rear left corner that has a dead Skaven on it.

A bit burnt on Vanaheim, and I've not had an opportunity to whip out the airbrush and basecoat Skaven, so I filled in some odds and ends.

Minervan Tank Destroyers (EW Tridents). Only the turrets are new paint.

Cadian Stormlord. First of two, but my Catachan Green's trashed and needs replacing. Probably going to stock up on this and a few other colors I use a lot while I can.

Last update today. I promise.

Lsrwolf's Grand Eldar Blowout has got me thinking about revamping my first Epic army. I have just about 12k of Eldar, but haven't used them ina long time. Most of this is my continuing fascination with my Guard, who now outnumber my Eldar two to one in points. Part of it is that the Eldar I've painted were all painted something like five years ago. They followed the colors my 40k Eldar used, which were black with metallic blue tops and grey bottoms. They seem underwhelming to me now. So, in the spirit of experiment, I went about painting up a Wave Serpent in colors that match the more recent 40k Eldar I have - orange with blue chevrons/stripes on top and bone bottom.

Image
This is what I ended up with.

Image
Compared to my old paint scheme.

Image
WIth his big brother, an old Fire Prism with the FW Type II upgrade kit.

Now the 40k tank is white basecoat with Blazing Orange and Hawk Turquiose. I think the bone is Kommando Khaki with Devlan Mud. The Epic was already basecoated black, so I chose Macharius Orange and Mordian Blue, and the bone is Dheneb Stone with Devlan. Both are Space Wolves Grey canopies. The orange is very dirty on the Epic, part of that is Macharius is a more earthy tone than Blazing Orange, and part of that is the basecoat.

Is it worth repainting to this new scheme as a long term project? If I do I'll probably also make the effort to allow my Eldar to take the field as Biel Tan, Iyanden and Yme-Loc (which they are already able to do), but also add a Saim Hann contingent.

Another day, another tank. After spending more time than I care to think about rejuvenating my paints, I painted a Shadowsword. *edit - paints, not pants*

With his cousin.

Also painted all 23 of my remaining flying bases for my Vanaheim. That's that out of the way; I can varnish and add clump foliange, and forget about them.

Got some Super Clean today. Will probably throw some Eldar in tonight so I can get stripping tomorrow after the kid's at school. The wife will be out too, maybe I can pull out the airbrush and basecoat some stuff as well.

Infantry test.

Switched out the Ogryn Flesh Wash in the Wave Serpent Orange for Baal Red. Much richer and cleaner color. Basing will be the same as Vanaheim, except possibly different foliage.

Also decided to revamp my flying bases from bits of paperclip or dressmaking pin to brass rod, and lowered them significantly. The Wave Serpent's on a redone one, you can see the difference.
