moredakka,
I glued dirt around the mostly painted minis because many were re-based. After that I painted on one good layer of thinned Citadel Foundation Calthan Brown for the ground cover and painted the ruins with Citadel Foundation Adeptus Battlegrey. Once dry I used a careful dry-brush of Citadel Foundation Iyanden Darksun. To finish the ground cover/ruins I used a slight drybrush of Formula P3 Menoth White mixed with a little Iyanden Darksun. I painted the edges of the bases with Bestial Brown to finish them.

Really nice armies. The use of beakies to overcome the oversized scouts issue is a superb fix, and one I shall endevour to remember!

Great freehand too.
