Quote (primarch @ 05 2004 Jan.,21:42) | Hi!
I picked some X-vehicles up not to long ago, precisely for an exodite army.
By the way Mojarn you post your exodite army to the netepic list or you sent it to the editor direct?
Primarch | You got to the new armies already?
Hmm. The last time I took a look there was at least one other Exodite list in the files -section of the group. Are you going to combine them?
I could send the list to the editor or he could get it from Incoming #13

Hi!
Send it to Yar directly so he can combine it with other information when the Eldar book gets edited.
If he has any questions tell him to contact me.

WEDNESDAY 07/01/2004
*yawn* busy few days at work (constructing laser's new warhead ) + messing about with 40K Legio Fausta space marine tournament army for (obv.) a tournament. BUT - my third troupe for my first warhost is promised: a Great Hawk. To follow, a bit of fun with a Storm Serpent and an Avatar. And then, back to business with an Aspect Warrior Warhost.
G'nightzzzzzzzz....

Nice job Vanvlak- I like how you've painted some of the different panels in different colours- it makes it an interesting model to see while still keeping that 'Eldar' look...

Thanks guys - I'm trying to stick to a simple paint scheme consisting of just three colours, a wash and a drybrush or two. Undercoat is black, and this is retained on the lower surfaces and some other areas. Yellow paints quite well on black, and provides a bright contrast. I paint all the non-black surfaces in yellow first, and then apply either a second coat of yellow or a coat of red in the red areas. Drybrushing was done with bleached bone, and in some areas, medium brown (very lightly). I tend to reserve the latter for black weapons only, and it has to be applied very uniformly. Flesh wash completes the job - apart from the obligatory varnish.
I may introduce one or two more colours in the Titans and Wraithlords, but I want to retain the unifying red-yellow-black them, and at 'worst' will probably drop yellow for bleached bone, or try a deeper shade of red; or possibly add a spot of purple. No blues or greens or metallic colours planned.
Incidentally, the Hawk was made of one Eldar vehicle body (from a Firestorm) and the two cannon arrays are of course Firestorm cannon. I decided these could produce a barrage effect, given the right type of ammunition and projectile velocity. The vertical central section (in black) is the tail of an old Nightwing. The outer sections (beneath the cannon) come from a pair of Dark Eldar (40K) jetbikes - which means my DE jetbikes will in the futurre be undergoing heavy conversion as well....

Awesome vehicle. However, IMO it looks quite Dark Eldarish. Reason? Well, the scorpion tail plus those "claws" bring a superheavy version of Talos to my mind immediately. (Mental note: make something similar to the Dark Eldar list for Net Epic).

And now i have to beat that for the scorpion itself! Incidentally, I always felt the Dark E. and the E. are two faces of the same coin - and have in fact used DE bits for the epic Eldar.

Sunday 18th January 2004 Hi all, Storm Serpent here. Parts list: 40K Dark Eldar jetbike fuselage halves and blades, as well as two tailfin 40K 2 Eldar Guardian weapon barrels (old sprue) and new Guardian transfers Epic Nightwing tails, 2 Glass ionomer (tooth filling material) capsule - the rear fuselage and engine, in black - thanks to the dentist wife Flying base.
Same old colour scheme, with a stripy and simple to paint variation.
This is the start of a new warhost+3 troupes, starting with a troupe. The Serpent can carry 6 stands, perfect for an Aspect Warrior Warhost. I should be adding the Avatar's court to the Avatar next; then the Wraithguard troupe, with Wraithlords; and finally the Aspect Warriors themselves. Cheers all.
