That's right folks: it's nearly Micklemas already and as an early pressie I give YOU: all my hard work and devotion to the UK's finest (and only!) open sourced, player and community led epic tournament(ish) and gaming event: The Bristol Winter Warmer!

The BWW is quickly becoming one of the busiest and most attended events in the UK Epic Calendar with support from many different angles in advertising, prizes, time, small amounts of dosh and scenery making skills from all sorts of people: we couldn't do it without you and I'm VERY happy to be able to continue running it!

So: without further ado here's whatcha get...

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

THE EPIC WINTER WARMER: SATURDAY & SUNDAY JANUARY THE 21st-22nd 2012, CUT AND THRUST WARGAMES STORE, BRISTOL, UK

So So Cheap! Pay to play on the day: £2.50 to rent a table plus a little extra to cover the cost of prizes (2.50) for the Saturday Open Tourney
Sunday big bash gaming is another £2.50 each: watch this space for exact details: will the Imperial Guard trapped in Outpost One be able to escape the evil Xenos threat that bears down upon their bastion: YOU DECIDE in this massive multi player rolling battle!
That's between a fiver and £7.50 for a weekend of top notch epic goodness (excluding beer money)!

SATURDAY
Prizes for: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Most Sporting, Underdog Army of the Day (least min/max'd), Bestest Looking Armies (players and judges choice), AND...a tiny little teaspoon if you come last (but this year there's a really nice suprise for this person too!)

Use any army you want! Tau, Tyranids, Dark Eldar, NEcrons, some wierd version of space marines? Who cares?! Just come and play some Epic Armageddon! (but don't be a silly about it or we'll smash off some points from your score :-)! )

3 x 3000pt games, all bog standard tourney scenario: makes sure we're all on the same page and don't spend yonks organising ourselves around alternative scenarios.

More than enough time in the evening for beers, pubs round the corner, drinks allowed in store, and Coffee, tea, chocolate on sale IN STORE!!! What more can a gamer want? We also run the Cut n Thrust Honesty Bar where many a fine pint will be on sale for 2 gold coin donation :-) In the evening we usually all for a meal but HOW ABOUT A GIG THIS TIME?

Registration/Army Submission: Saturday 8th of January.

WANT TO COME? Please put your hand up by posting in this thread! Ask any questions too: we're VERY new player friednly :-)

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Cut n Thrust Discount
Cut n Thrust sell all their products at 10% off to you dear epic gamers! Bring wads of wonga!

Winter Warmer Epic Bring and Buy!
It's a Bring and Buy, at the Winter Warmer! (Epic related goods only please as we don't want to detract from the store's wares). Bring your unwanted minis and trade/sell/buy to your hearts delight. We'll be running this during lunch so have things ready to be displayed on one of several clear benches provided. Lunch will be a bit longer as we've no limit on when the tourney has to end proper (though I'm aiming for 6/7pm)

Accommodation
For those that are joining us for the Big Bash on Sunday day I thought I'd mention the obvious dearth of accommodation options that exist in Bristol. One good idea might be for all those that are staying over to get in touch with Bristol Backpackers and rent themselves out an exclusive Geek's only dormitory? I'll leave that up to you lot though.

I'm going to try my damndest to make this one..... I seem to recall Bristol being a bit of a grey hell-hole (from my single cricket tour experience) so I don't know if I should bring the wife and kid and let them see the sights while I play with toy soldiers

BIG BATTLE TALK!!!

Remember that awesome 6 page story in second edition Codex Tyranids where an imperial guard outpost on a jungle world is being assualted?! I want to recreate that!

Plan is to make some sweet ass big battle specific scenery and have at it but for this we NEED TYRANIDS!!!

I can provide about 5-6k of them

we can keep the battle rolling by spawning dead broods back from off table

How many other people who are planning on attending the sunday big battle can help provide gribbly alien hordes?! I'm looking at Carlos and Barnie for one!

Imperial armies shouldn't be a problem...:-)

I hope the result of the battle can get written into zombo's Imperium v Tyranids project ala how last year's big battle ended up written into Epic: Mechanicus...

It'd need some changes; my book is set on a hive world, not a jungle one, and is mostly sisters vs nids. There is supposed to be a big PDF garrison on the planet, so it could be them being attacked.

I changed a couple of the armies in last year's battle (Steel Legion became Skitarii for example).

It's more the jungle vs hive thing that's an issue.
