Thaddeus Wilson himself will probably make an appearance in the story later on.


I picked the Legio Destructor because their home Forgeworld, Accatran, is near to Attila, the Ork Empire of Charadon, and Rynn's world (Crimson Fists' home planet as of 50 years before the story is set... they are almost destroyed by an ork attack 50 years after the story is set).

Achill-Quag is probably half way between Accatran and the heart of the Charadon empire.

The war, although relatively minor as regards the forces involved (Only a few million infantry on each side), is judged by the Ordo Xenos to be important enough that IG reinforcements from as far away as Kar Duniash have been sent.

Just finished reading it and I really like it, I spotted one mistake, which I now cannot find, also, there are many instances of the word 'fourty' which should be 'forty' unless it's some obscure military term I'm not familiar with....

Does it just end with the retreat or is there more story? I particularly enjoyed the Templars/Fists officer discussions myself.....

Nope, I'm just not great at spelling. :-)


There will be more story yet. I'm enjoying zooming in an out, sometimes discussing events on a global scale, sometimes zooming in to a conversation between a couple of Marines or Orks. This is just the first chunk of the story, there'll be another 10 pages I'd guess, plus supplemental background.

And you haven't seen the last of Marshall Galfridus just yet, despite his horrific wounds, he will fight again...

I'm a bit concerned that the Emperor titan hasn't died yet. No Emperor ever appears without dieing spectacularily in GW stories

I'm thinking that to settle this encounter, I'll just sit down and play against myself or a mate with the forces (Orks using units from the Gargant Bigmob & Gazghull's Horde lists, Imperials using units from the Titan Legion & Knightworld lists).

I might pull Baron Harko out of the story at this section as there wasn't actually a Baron in the Titan Legions boxed set, just 10 normal Paladins. Also that'd help dramatic tension as we already know that the Baron survives until the end of the war, so taking him out of this fight puts makes the outcome more unpredictable to the reader. Think I'll do that.
