can anyone suggest any suitable proxies for the kroot stuff? (kroot, hounds, ox etc...)

also, there is a pic of a Skyray on the FW site which doesn't have the missile racks and has the devilfish hatch.... is this moulded onto the model or does it come with the skyray? ('twould be awesome if it did....)

More 6mm Tarragin are being sculpted too, they'll accompany our 28mm Tarragin list.

So far we've got an Elder (shaman type), Twin bladed staff warrior and a warrior with a rotary blaster being made. Also a squad of Tarragin Braves (smaller, younger Tarragin) being made. For 6mm only we have a Clan Chieftain and Ancestor being made to head up company sized formations.

More may follow depending on the final 28mm squad composition.

I bought a load of Skyrays the other week entirely for the purpose of converting them to devilfish. I haven't had time to build any of them yet , but they do come with what seem to be the gun drones and enough barrels that you could make the chin gun quite easily. They do not come with the devilfish hatches as such, but there is some detailing under where the missile rack goes. I think that I will be happy enough to just plug the hole where the missile rack goes.

For infantry I have gone for DRM karrok II guard for firewarriors, andrayadas scouts for pathfinders and kamalei for kroot. These should be arriving shortly. I managed to get some broadsides just before FW discontinued them and picked up some stealth suits off ebay. I am a bit stuck for what to use for crisis suits and how to add to the broadsides and stealthsuits. Any ideas for in production minis I could use?

I finally got round to assemblig a test batch of skyray - devilfish. I'm pleased with them except the top hatch. Nothing added to what came in the packet except a small plug to fill the hole in the top.

The leader in the second unit above could perhaps be used as an etheral or maybe this guy which also comes with the guards (but the first set has more guards included)

I've wondered how easy it would be to make a fairly basic Kroot-like thing in spore, tidy it up a bit in a 3D program and put lots of them on a sprue then get it printed.

I was only thinking spore as it's fairly straight forward to get organic shapes, something that would be a bit trickier if I had to draw them from scratch with no 3D modelling experience. It's also designed to be pretty easily exported into 3D programs for this sort of stuff. No idea whether the scaling would work (whether I'd just lose detail which would be fine, or whether it's just not possible to print).

Wouldn't be as cheap as a good proxy, but might be a way of getting a fairly krootlike one (and one that looks consistent with similarly made hounds and krootox. Not to mention Knarlocs, great and small)

The GZG Kravak make for decentish Kroot. Guns are a bit too short and they are a little blocky, but they do have braids!
