*shudder*

I hate the GW term, but I'm wondering if any of the experts around these parts can advise me on what the stuff actually is.... and whether it can be purchased cheaper elsewhere......

I'm looking to make some simple press moulds for some shield designs, and I know very little about the stuff, if anyone has a link or anything to somewhere with lots of info and tips on the stuff, that would be much appreciated!

It's actual name is Kneadatite, I'm sure you'll find some decent deals using ebay or a google shopping search.

Army Painter supply it, and most hobby retailers sell it.

Once again, you get substantially more for less than the GW equivalent.

if you're making press molds, i cannot recommend Blu-Stuff Enough.

can you sculpt with that too - or is it just for press moulds?

you can sculpt with it if you need to, but its not terribly suitable for it, but if you need something that cures faster and/or is softer than greenstuff, i guess you could use it. but its main purpose is for mould-making, at which it is brilliant.
i seriously wish i'd had the stuff years ago, and een oer the last month its made my current project so much better. i never liked press-moulding in the past, but its super-easy now. its particularly brilliant for reproducing things like orky glyphs and little details like door handles and whatnot, be it ones you've made yourself or stuff you've grabbed from premade kits. seriously cannot recommend it enough.

Blu stuff is really easy to work with and the result is well detailed.
