Anyone have any "slight" interest in some Midwest Epic Tournaments that wouldn't be in Chicago....

No offense Chicago! You already have Adepticon! ;D

Where? Are we talking St. Louie? I could try, but I don't know that the boss would allow it. It'll be hard enough explaining why I need two days at Adepticon this year. ::)

Hmmmm....Sounds like we work for the same BOSS. :o

Yeppers, the STL would be the place. We actually have a decent amount of people that play Epic around these parts, but most can't make it up to the Windy City area to make the Con. I've been talking about it heavily down here this last month with some of my group and we think we're ready to take the next step. We can get a venue and prize support, but the question is can we get the bodies.

I can ask around and see if there'd be interest. It'd be fun. It's been ten years since I've been down that way; I went to High School in Carbondale.

Carbondale is a little further south than STL. So it wouldn't be THAT bad of a drive. ;)

As for the tournament, we're seriously thinking about raising the pts cap to 4000-5000 and making house rule that a minimum of 50% pts be Titans/Flyers. Trying to keep the model count down so the games aren't as long.

That'd be interesting, but personally I simply don't have enough Titans for that. I've got about 1k in Flyers, a half built Warlord, and a pair of unbuilt Warhounds. If you change it to 1/2 WE or flyers you'd be on better ground; it'd cater to the treadheads like me (6 SHT companies and counting) and the giant stompy robot lovers.

It's an idea, however most flyer formations are low in points so it won't trim the activation count that much, and players are likely to max out on AA which adds time to the game as you assess suppression then make all those flak attacks.

In the UK we have found the 4K tournament games need a 3.5 hour time limit, with around 80% finishing within that time scale.

Tanks for the info Mephiston. Maybe to trim down on the flyers, no more than 1/3pts of the pts spent on Titan allowance? ::)

I like that idea. War Engines... 8)
If you want SG, you could borrow a couple titans from me. I've got enough Warlords/Warhouds to go around. Imperators and Warmongers...I reserve the right to choose first... ;D

Thanks for the offer, Rob. Eventually I plan on doing my own, but EW needs to get those Behemoths out first...
