When you say blue detailing, which bits on Lucius pattern would you mean?

Armour plating on weapons, perhaps as part of some livery pattern on the shins or knee armour.

I think some sort of combination of steel, black and dark blue, perhaps quartered or halved, sounds good to me.

It's E&C's supplement so I guess he will decide whether to even refer to Legio Destructor's colour scheme in the supplement. But I think it was good to get everyone's input first.

Thanks

James

I think steel as the primary colour is definitely the way to go - they are the ‘Steel Beasts’ afterall. I reckon blue would be a bad idea, as then the colour scheme is too reminiscent of the recent colourscheme invented for the renegade Astral Claws:

I dislike the idea of a black and metal colourscheme, as we’ve recently had the colourscheme for the Warmongers (Legio Crucius) officially set in the recent Forge World books as mainly black (with white and gold detailing).

The old Titan Legions rulebook definitely had a symbol for the Titan Legion – my copy is packed away somewhere, but presumably that is the one on the wiki. I think should be adopted as their symbol, to fit the existing background and because it looks quite orkily close combat orientated with those axes.

The Titan legion is specifically Orky, so I reckon having them look slightly orky would be good. Steel with green trim/detail is my suggestion as green is evocative of orks in general. Red could be another reasonable possibility instead or as well, but red is somewhat over-used on titan legions.

Thanks for the link Glyn- I have nt got the last couple of FW IA books- can no longer afford them. Always good to see what colours other Legios have- it's quite a cool colour scheme but would nt want to get too close to it.

Does anyone have any regular contact with FW? Does anyone know if Legio Destructor will feature in a forthcoming IA book (they seem to come out now as ofetn as "Now that's what I call Music" CD's).

Cheers

James

Neither can I - I didn't pay for the pdf copies I have of the books (though I spent over a grand with Forge World in my time and bought a number of their other books in the past).

I don't know, but I suspect that sort of thing is something they'd keep under wraps till close to release. We may see new titan legion colour schemes when they release the Warlord (particularly in the opponent is orks again though they'll likely do have D Eldar, Necrons and Slaanesh/Tzeentch first) or if GW or FW ever do a re-release of Adeptus Titanicus with truescale titans.

Maybe we need a poll to see what is favoured colour scheme?

Ill be doing steel beasts warhounds at the end of the year, i intend to paint them metallic (using alclad chrome with a black panel wash using magic wash) with some alternate quarters painted in differing 'hazard' heraldry of royal blue and white. Ie, diagonal stripes on the left carapace/right leg on one, vertical stripes on the right carapace, left shin of another, etc.

I know it is an old thread.

i recently put together 3 warlords for my Legio Destructor legion.

I did not decide on the paint scheme yet, as I did not find a common colour scheme, but am planning to add the exhausts of space marine backpacks as amplifiers.

This would add a llittle plus as it is mentioned in the wiki entry.

"Even the Fabricator General of Mars expressed surprise when he first learned that this Legion's crewmen had outfitted their war machines with amplifiers so that they could reply to the Orks’ war cries with their Legion's own somewhat simple-minded battle chant."

Was also thinking about adding ork trophies (e.g. gargant head) as a tool to impress/scare the orks they are fighting.

"the constant exposure to Ork attacks has made the Legio Destructor increasingly "Ork-like" in its outlook and behaviour, particularly in its attitude to combat."

Outlook is used here in which sense?

It means ‘attitude’. Like the orks, they are enthusiastic about war and probably less cautious and rational than most titan legions. In other words, they're crazy!
