It said "Fun Stuff" on the cover. I thought it might be where he kept pics of Homer being bitten by a snake. Apparently there's other stuff there he considers fun, too.

Heh heh. I was thinking about that during my evening walk. Will ponder the dictionary more.

Traditionally speaking, I got the idea from Kev Smith and Mrs. at Hasslefree, who codename their 'proxies' as well.

And in the meantime,

I might have had this explained to me before, but I forget: why bronze?

The bronze doesn't distort or degrade when making master mounds. Also if the mould maker screws up the master then he can give it another go.

It's sturdier, more resilient and looks flipping sexy in the EW studio cabinet.

Plus you can vulcanise in the mould straight away without having to cold cast it first.

It essentially replaces the bronzing stage. You convert your masters into metal, then make your master mould.

master moulds are vulcanised - the mould is heated up to make the rubber tougher and last longer.

but if you've got a wax or plastic original, it's going to go bye bye.

I think it's one of the reasons greenstuff caught on in sculpting - it's vulcanisation proof.

Is it cheaper than vulcanisable resin masters? Better quality?

Certainly not cheaper, but print resolution and durability are very good indeed.
