Just a cheeky bump. We still have spaces available for both sides, so sign up if you want to come along, it should be a great weekend.

Would love to join this, but I have two Epic armies. Orks and Necrons.
Bummer.

Orks work as mercenaries on occasion, and xeno mercenaries figured in the Sabbat Worlds Crusade...

Im open to a limited number of other armies talking part if there is a logical/reasonable lore reason for it. The key for this event imo is to have good linked scenarios and storyline to make a strong narrative, so as to differentiate this type of event from a free for all tourney.

Simulated Knave can you let me know where xeno mercenaries in the sabbat worlds crusade are mentioned please, so I can check it out and see what options there are for players like lunchmoney.

The Loxatl were mercenaries, weren't they?

I admit I don't know that much about it beyond that. The Blood Pact page mentions that they work with aliens and mercenaries. I think some Blood Axes working for them would not be out of the question.

SOME mercanaries but not whole armies of epic proportion I'd say!

Anyway, how are numbers looking for this?

Regarding numbers: Ive had ~12 people express interest in this thread and via PM, however only 1 has formally bought a ticket so far. We are ~2 months out atm, so its not unexpected for people to have not bought a ticket yet, however it would be helpful if those who want to come could buy one so I have a better idea of numbers, and can pay the venue/catering deposits.

There is space at the venue for more than the 12 I originally set, so if 20 suddenly want to come then that is fine too ;)

Ive been asked about this so I will clarify: Should the event not happen, tickets will be refunded fully. The deposits I refered to above are returnable, and are just to lock down the venue, if I cancel then you are all refunded.

Tickets are on sale at triplehelixwargames.co.uk under events. For the campaign to happen I need 8+ payed up tickets by 31st October 2011. So thats basicly a month and a half for you to decide. I hope that makes it easier for people to mobilise their forces ;)

I was thinking of going along - I have armies but have never played a game of EA against someone.

Would it be worth me entering do you think - Would I be welcomed as a noob?

In mor experience new players are always very welcome at epic events here in the uk; everyone I know is very patient and would also be willing to point put gross tactical mistakes slash rules mistakes!

I'll second that. Having been both the new person, and also having played against newcomers I can say that new players are always very welcome.

As MoK said, the more experianced players will not only help you with the rules, but if you make a really foolish (inexperianced) move, rather than capitalise on it and obliterate your troops, they will say "are you sure you want to do that, because...".

In addition, in my painful experiance, they'll also apologise while politely smashing your forces aside..... :-\

Hopefully see you there.

Cheers
Reedar

Furgie.

The campaign weekend is still scheduled to take place, however it is still dependant on enough people attending. Currently I dont have enough tickets sold for it to happen, but a large number of people have expressed interest in this thread and to me by PM. It really comes down to whether those interested people decide to attend or not. I need 8+ people to have bought a ticket by 31st oct.

Regarding new players, you would be very welcome to come along. The day 1 scenarios are doubles games, so you will have another player on your side to help out, and we are all interested in expanding the epic community, so we will be more than happy to help you out.

Regrettably I'm having to pull out, as I'm now having a birthday party thrown for me that weekend, sorry.
Silly people don't realise my birthday isn't even at the weekend!
