If you are going to the tournament you should already have it. If not please be patient and wait for the full release.

Hi all,

I will travel the morning of the 10th september form Sidcup station (DA14 - south east london) by car to cambrige through Dartford tunnel, the M25 and the M11.

So if someone want a lift in a old but secure metro, drop me a line by PM.

Dear All,

we're only a few days away now... I'm sure there's some last minute painting going on (definitely for me there is).

Just to repeat the request for scenery - in particular, we're short on forests/woods//trees.

See everyone Saturday morning,

Simon

Hi all

My son's flat was broken into and burgled earlier this evening, and we need to sort things out tomorrow.
Unfortunately that means that I will not be coming, and I must admit I was really looking forward to this.
I Hope that does not screw up the numbers.

Cheers

Yep, tis next door to the Tally Ho.
Not sure if you can park in their car park.... but at that time of the morning, you should be good to park on the road the other side.

Morning all,

thanks to everyone who attended the first Cambridge Skirmish, it was great to meet some new players and everyone had a good days gaming.

I shall definitely be running the event again next year - similar sort of time, so keep those calenders clear.

The day was great, made better by the people who play Epic.

Many thanks,

Simon

What were people's reaction to the Nids?

As the only player to use the Nids I can give some feedback, the list is interesting, but to my mind some units are not balanced.
Many of the units will never see competative play malefactor, harruspex are simply inferior to carnifex. The bio titans are very underpowered for their points, compare the hierophant to the subjugator and its a no brainer in points, also in theta category the harridon is too good for its points, and will be taken in preference.
The brute swarms are brutal and hard to deal with but I think about right, they will need a few games for peope to understand how to stop them.
I would never take zoanthrope as only LV in either swarm they will die too easily (btw thewy have different points in different swarms), similary biovore are too vulnerable for their points cost, the nest swarm other than being able to infiltrate some biovores serves no apparant purpose.
Lictors are too vulnerable, there only real target would be isolated artillary which are very hard to find,

Thtas the specifics, on genral play it played as it should, rush fowards with the brutes.dominatrix turn 1 giving the opponant too many targets to stop, then turn two, weather the response as its unlikely you will get to go first (I won initaitive in one game and then it was game over for my opponant). The lictors where a complete waste of points in most games and will not be coming out to play again as they teleport in kill a few units (or none against skmmers) then die. The harridons were best points for points unit in the game however they were essential for taking on the eldar.
And finally the tyrannids are by far the coolest looking with a host of carnifexs
