@Havocs: What about 45pts or 40 pts for them instead of the current 50pts?
Thoughts?

No. They are under-costed as is.

I daresay playtests will show that they will be taken at 50 points without a problem.

I'm going to try and use Havocs this weekend at 50pts (it'll be a garrisoned, blitz guard formation with a couple of Obliterators on Overwatch) instead of my usual Chaos Spawn upgrade.

I can see them being artilleried but they should be good against anything that heads their way.

I don't mind a change to Renegade Warband but I'm not sure it's really necessary.

Are you on Vassal at all? If so, I would like a game some time - no matter what armies (RC should be one of them however), just a get together and a g'day over a rip-roaring game :)

I was thinking about this.

The formation may actually be better served as a DTF guard for the following reasons:
- This allows them to be a back up for shooting at the enemy in just about any turn as they will not be sitting on the back edge of the table
- The formation on Overwatch closer to the opponent will be psychological distratction
- It will force an opponent to risk getting shot or take another route
- Given a Daemonic Pact, the Daemons they summon can act as a 'meat shield' to incoming shots and therefore not attract BM
- Greater coverage for the AA (front and back) if the Oblits are taken.

Yes, a good Blitz Guard, yet an even better DTF formation.

What does the list look like now? Are you making any changes to 3.2?
That would help to know if I have any new suggestions? :)

This is a good change and brings it in line with the World Eaters.

List updated to V3.21 with the mentioned changes above.

As always downloadable in the first posting.

I have to add my thanks to the developers and testers of this list, its truely a masterpiece.

It contains a load of great toys that the standard lists dont (brass scorpions, thunderhawks etc) and has much better layout/choices, specifically the standard CSM retinues allowing you to upgrade members to cult marines/havocs, the standard lists only allow additions which make the formations big and clunky, this method of upgrade allowing 4/4 CSM/cult marines is much nicer imo, it keeps the formations to a manageable size and cost.

Definately the premier CSM list in terms of flexibility to build the army you want rather than the army the list wants you to have.

The v3.21 black and white pdf doesnt contain the special rules, this isnt normally a problem as things like daemon summoning etc can be found in other NetEA lists. However there is one thing that I cant clarify using the other NetEA lists and that is:

What can a Chaos Thunderhawk transport? Specifically, can it transport a Daemon Prince?

The Chaos Thunderhawk can transport anything reasonable as a loyal Thunderhawk.
Not thought about Daemon Prince but i think he should count as the same way as Dreadnoughts.

I think that is reasonable also.
