From Warseer
"Will Hayes- wants to redo the epic titans to match the new styling- current ones are far too small and out of scale. at 6 mm, Epic models are 1/5, so a Warhound would be 2 inches tall, and the Reaver about the size of the Contemptor dreadnought. Current epic titans are far too plain as well. If redone, more detail would be added, like how Aeronautica updated the various fliers in size and detail.
Lucius Warhound was basically his first project out of Uni, so it has a lot of problems. Flat and blocky for ease of design. Later Mars pattern more refined, far more warhammer looking. Still both Warhounds have major problems with assembly, making the interior and main body out of 6 parts that all attach to each other a bad idea in retrospect. Reaver design more construction friendly, with main body more unified."

Gorgeous!!

Yeah, cool news :) I mentioned it on my other thread on the new FW stuff too and there’s some details there about what the new Warlord will look like too (based on the original beetleback design).

Why not? I’m fairly sure they’ll do it as some point, when they have the time/desire. There is a lot they're talking about doing at 'some point' (i.e. could be years and years) though, including Imperial Armour 30k: The Horus Heresy.

The logical time would be around when they release the 40k Warlord Titan (2012 I believe it’s meant to be). I suspect/speculate they’d likely re-do of Adeptus Titanicus in an Aeranautica Imperialis type book/game, so that the crazies could play it with full scale titans and most people could use 6mm versions. Presumably there'd be awesome scenery too - FW have recently figured out some new way of 'hollow casting' so they can cast buildings as like a hollow shell to save on resin/weight/cost. They would also presumably do true scale 6mm titans for all their 40k ones - Phantom, Warlock, ect. Probably a Gargant too (even if that never makes it to 40k). I would love to see all that! (though my bank balance wouldn't). If it did happen it could also result in a large influx of interest in players trying EpicA as well (lets just pray we have the army book sorted by then).

Mind you I would put money on GW going out of business at some point this decade. If so I just hope we get the cool epic stuff beforehand.

Hasn't E&C been saying will wants to redo the epic ones for years now? It is cool that he wants to use the beetleback as a base which should fit well with the reaver and mars warhound.

He has indeed, but that's his personal modelling project.

I was a bit surprised at first that Forge World would base their new Warlord on the original beetleback, as I'm more used to the current metal epic one, but I guess they have been going through a retro streak and I'm confident the design will come out well.

I think the chances of FW doing anything for Epic would be directly related to GW and/or FW doing some type of one off release of a box set-game.

I have some suspicion they thought of doing this due to:the popularity of 40k scale titans at FW etc. (FW did re-list the Epic warhound), Jervis actually personally liking Titans, and the ease of making such a box set as a stand alone game.

Factors against this are: GW recent corporate decision to 'revitalize' WHFB (including rumours of a special re-release of Man O' War, neat game at the time, but who here wouldn't of rather seen Adeptus Titanicus), and the upcoming Hobbit movie(s) and the attention GW will dump all over that.

No matter what is done (or more likely not done), it will be endlessly, gratuitously 'panned' on the internet and elsewhere and probably won't sell well until it's OOP and on Ebay auctions. :P

I highly doubt main GW would get involved or that it would be a boxed game. I reckon it'd be a FW project akin to Aeronautica Imperialis - it's the FW titan guy talking about thinking about sculpting new 6mm versions of the models. If it was main GW they would be done on CAD and secrecy rules me we wouldn't hear leaks about it till close to release. If main GW were to do it FW would know about it - they wouldn't be able to tell the public, but the fact they are talking about doing it themselves means it's unlikely main GW has any plans to.

I suspect Aeranautica didn't do well saleswise, but from what I've seen online about it has been mostly positive. Titans are also way cooler than airplanes and I could see the game selling like hot cakes myself. There have got to be loads of gamers out there who dream of owning a titan, but would never be able to afford/justify a 40k one, but a 6mm one would be 15-20 times cheaper and usable without having to have a huge Apocalypse game.

I would think Warhammer Quest would be the obvious choice for a game in a box. I suspect Man 'O War rumours are wishlisting - the game used to have loads of fleets and it couldn't be done justice with just a one off game and if it follows the pattern of Space Hulk then it will be a one off with no follow up range.

I hear things about the Man'o'war release from pretty consistent rumour mongers, it's supposedly empire vs vampire pirates and comes with plastic islands and stuff, it isn't a re-release of man'o'war and won't be titled as such, it's apparently warmaster scale, so the ships will be relatively big....

I'm really looking forward to it if it happens, and I'll be blagging multiple copies

I also would love warhammer quest, jeez that was a fun game at level 1..... it had a weird difficulty curve, level 1 was really really hard to get past, then levels 2-7 were essentially just levelling up, level 8 became hard again as you got stuff like greater daemons, giants and deathmaster assassins

most of all I would adore a big boxed adeptus titanicus release with a dozen or so titans (of varying classes) gargants and whatnot, some nice plastic scenery and maybe some superheavies and troops for good measure.... I'd pay £100 for a box like that, MULTIPLE TIMES OVER (just in case GW are listening)

Sorry for the threadjack..... I would love FW to release some new titan models, as well as fix the moulds for some of the other stuff too.....

The few times I've talked to Forgeworld people I just got the impression they couldn't be bothered (spiel went, 'why sell a $10 tank when your backordered on $100 tanks').

But, I guess it was just my 'wish' that GW would re-release an AT box set (with lots of different Titans, and, yes, listen GW, LISTEN!) and then FW would step up with additional models and wacky balance breaking rules to go with them. ::)

I find it hard to believe that GW/FW can produce so many models but can't throw SG games a bone in years. Heck, GW they could make one model a month and alternate through the SG line up and feature the model as a new item on the site, but instead they release, what 15 to 30 new 28mm models a month, produce trinkets for stores etc. And lose potential SG sales to marginal, flash in the pan game companies that fill the niche SG could/should be filling.

Even when they did the re-release of Space Hulk a few years back, what would have been the big harm in continuing to sell it? I really can't see it diverting sales from the 40k game crowd. Plus they already invested in the molds, copy etc.

Oh well, unless there are some real changes in GW managment I can't see anything coming from GW or FW that involves Specialist Games in a positive, sustained fashion.
