I so fancy converting some old plastic SM dreads of those for use in my Ultramarines and Ad-Mech army (I guess as Praetorians or possibly Sentinels). Some of the Contemptor weapons look like they would work very well on larger titans too (and the arms are normally sold separately). I'm guessing they're on 60mm round bases to guess at scale? The Heavy Conversion beamer could likely be used on an Ordinatus, though I'm not totally sure what best as off-hand.

No comments? I thought people right be pleased to see the old retro epic dreads back:

Some interesting discussion on titans (including possible new epic ones):
Quote:
Warlord Titan- Not started yet, in the idea phase. 22-24 inches tall (60cm) based on an update of the beetleback design.
Hadn't considered the secondary weapon mounts on the beetleback, likely would not include. Head likely skull-face appearance.

I asked about the correlation between shield generators and void shields in rules on the Mars warhound and Reaver. He hadn't
thought about it, but agreed that it works really well to designate shields lost when played. Discussed placement of void shields on
Warlor if 6 on there. Possibly two on each side rear, two in front on "hood."

Discussed carapace weapon mount. Didn't want to just flip the warhound weapons over. At that point I grabbed a sharpie and
piece of paper and sketched out a quick turret idea. Will then drew his version- curved front slopes into flat back. Some mechanical
gribblies on the sides. On the back, each gun would have a different ammo block that attaches, and the guns themselves would
probably be mounted to a curved mantlet to attach to the front. I suggested mounting on a cylinder so the guns could be elevated.
I still have the sketch.
Quote:
Jes...does not like the Lucius pattern Epic titan models, as they are too blocky and generic Sci-fi.

Quote:
Will Hayes- wants to redo the epic titans to match the new styling- current ones are far too small and out of scale. at 6 mm,
Epic models are 1/5, so a Warhound would be 2 inches tall, and the Reaver about the size of the Contemptor dreadnought. Current
epic titans are far too plain as well. If redone, more detail would be added, like how Aeronautica updated the various fliers in size and
detail. Lucius Warhound was basically his first project out of Uni, so it has a lot of problems. Flat and blocky for ease of design. Later
Mars pattern more refined, far more warhammer looking.

Bizarely, I really, really like that Praetor launcher! I would love to see that in 6mm. The Dreads are nice, but I dont really like the direction that this unit is going in right now. I like my dreads to me clunky and powerhouses, although the plasma power fist arms look cool.

Hmmm....I really don't like the look of the "Old Dreadnoughts" so I'm really not excited about them. I do not like the Mars Patteren Titans, I rather like the Lucis ones so that news is also sad. I guess the only good news is that FW might redo Epic Titans but they still be ugly. Oh Well...

Lots of people like the Praetor, it is an awesome looking tank. I hear a certain Otter likes it too, but finds it a bit big.

The new Dreads are in addition to the old ones not replacements - they've only just released a Salamanders Dread for instance.
They do a lot of them as apparently they sell well - they referred to them as their 'bread and butter models'. I like the look of those
fists, but it occurs to me that unless the interior weapon retracts behind some kind of shield it would surely get damaged as the
Dread was crushing tanks, bunkers, etc with it's fist.

I'm only vaguely familiar with Gundam so I have no such association myself. The legs are very faithfull to the original plastic model design for the
Adeptus Titanicus Dreads:

I think their creator is right find the Mars Titans looks way better than the ugly Lucius ones. They're more gothic and have nice detail and
scrollwork and the like, whereas I find the Lucius ones too bland and functional looking.

I have only one Adeptus Titanicus Dread. This is a tragic oversight which I must remedy at the earliest possible opportunity.

Yeah I have none and could do with a couple too (though I'd repose and make them look more like the new ones) - I figure I might add
them to my Calgar and Honour Guard formation. I reckon the eBay price for them may jump compared to what it would have been before.

I probably have some spares if you're interested in them.

yeah, i think the current e40k warlord looks way way better than the beatleback old one. one wonders if they'll redo the current 40k (and epic) warhound and reavers to match the old not very good ones (actually, i prefer the old reavers, but not the old warlords, i like both versions of the warhound, not including the ugly ass e40k one SG currently sells)
