Even .010" (.25mm) plasticard will emboss like that. Works a treat.

Oh? I'm actually going shopping for sheets this Saturday, so I'll look for thin plastic card as well. Cheers SG! Much obliged.

Actually, as you can see on this picture below, the red and the silver "metal plates" come from wine bottlenecks. It is very common here in France to get some these in metal, maybe, in other countries is it in plastic, but not sure about that.
The yellow metal parts are coming from thin alluminium plate use for craft at school. One small sheet is enough for more than a Gargant ;)
To emboss, I use either some used pin or the tool which looks like a tiny "pizza slicer", in fact an handle with a kind of gear.

Where can you find the 'pizza slicer' thingy? Being able to do evenly spaced rivets easily would be sweet.

Great conversions! Amazing attention to detail. I would very much like to know what type of riveting tool you used too. Did this by pinning with, well, a pin. Works, but sores the thumb surprisingly, so a tool like this would speed things up greatly.

I have already used tin foil from wine bottles too. But in larger scale. I used a simple pen.

Excellent conversions!!

Heya SG, their 'formal' name is "pounce wheel". Google it for much resulting resultiness.

That kind of tool. The brand is Trumpeter.
It is quite fragile and I use now the wheels without the handle which is broken.

The "pounce wheel" sugested by Mr O seems much more tough...

Wow - i've obviously been away a while - excellent as ever ! Watching this thread I'm really getting the urge to branch out into Orks - must report to the Inquisition for a mind scrub quick ! :)

All the conversions are staggeringly good, and the detail on the infantry is beautiful.

I'm not clear if those Stompas are finished ? Though i really like the simple approach you normally use for vehicles (similar to my philosophy at 6mm) ie. a really nice base with good weathering, i must say ( if i can make a little suggestion ) they could use a bit more detail / contrast colouring - especially around the face - just to bring out the personality of the models. I like the blue edging on the central one, perhaps some more of this colour...?

Blue is lucky after all (mixing clans i know :)

I have only just found this thread. Can I just say belatedly, stunning conversions, great painting. I just love how you have managed to get a sense of uniqueness to 6mm models- very Orky!!

Please keep up the great work. And more pictures always welcome!! maybe an army shot.....

:)

Thanks

James
