This time it is infantry. A platoon of missile launcher armed fire-support. These are for the 1st jäger company, increasing it's firepower considerably. These guys have dug themselves some foxholes, that I have made from simply cut plastic tubing. The soldiers are of course snipped in half and then simply glued to the base.

And now the 1st jäger company as it currently is.

This unit is mainly for holding objectives, while the faster moving units capture more and engage the enemy aggressively.

And about 4 months have once again passed since I last posted anything. Well, work causes that sometimes. But now that I am on a well deserved summer vacation, I have actually managed to paint stuff. These Baneblades have been waiting my attention in the table since March. The third one will be coming later. I have decided to number these 600, 601 and 602.

The Demolisher cannon is made of plastic rod and those mortar turrets tht came with these.

These Exodus Wars Urban Pacification Vehicles are excellent, they have just the right feeling for super-heavy tanks. The quality is also very good, I had to clean only some minor flash from them. Next one will be the command tank.

Thank you for comments. I am slowly but steadily progressing with the command tank, hopefully I am able to finish it during the weekend.

And here it is, the command tank for my super-heavy tank company! This one has a long antenna and a radar dish to make it look a bit different.

And a group shot of all three.

What do you think?

Time for more. As you have seen, I have not modelled any commissars to my vehicles, except the Russes. So how do I know which units have a commissar attached? Well, we have blast markers in Epic, but why not have commissar markers? This is a small test conducted using Exodus Wars bounty hunter gunslingers. I am planning to simply plop one of these markers next to a vehicle that has been given a commissar. This way I can change the units that have them without need to have several models of tanks with commissars modelled on them. As these are simply markers, all enemy activity (shooting, assaulting) is done to the vehicles themselves, not the markers. The infantry command stands will get proper commissar versions modeled for them in the far future...

This commissar has a power fist in his other hand, good enough to represent that MW attack.

Image
The one next to the Manticores has a plasma pistol, once again, good enough for MW attack.

What do you think?

Those look pretty good! I use the Gunslingers as Commissars in my army, too. :) What do you think about putting the Commissars maybe on a smaller, round base? That way they look less like an actual unit.

I've been watching this thread on and off for awhile and just have to say the winter camo scheme is great. Your basing with the terrain elements is characterful but still leaves the unit stands 'playable' game wise.

Your use of proxies actually works (for me, I'm kinda a fluff purist) in your army and doesn't personally make me cringe with a feeling 'that's not IG', instead I'm just left thinking 'forgeworld variation'.

Somehow I ended up with a number of those bounty hunter models and they have been sitting in a jar of misc. minis. Every so often I'd look at them and think, 'cool Kal Jericho in 6mm'. Now I know what to use them for, they look absolutely brilliant as commissars. Your idea of seperate basing for them is insightful too.

Thanks for this thread, lots of really cool original ideas for inspiration.
