I did not realise that they were Star Wars models!

I just looked and a plane trip leaving this Friday for Perth and coming back on the Sunday and it will be ~$300.00 return via Tiger airways.

Maybe not this weekend however if there was lodging available for a weekend later on this year or in the new year, I would definately like to fligh up with an army or two...

yeah, i gotta say, the temptation to pack up my necrons and fly over for the tourney or megabattle is tempting. $350 aint so bad...

Cheers guys :).

Wish my Necrons gave a better showing of themselves yesterday :D
I was a little too aggresive with my teleporting and only had one Monolith and a Warbarque left to portal through... not good. My mind obviously wasn't fully on my game as I was just very happy to see so many playing Epic.

Yup, our 1 day tournament is on July 10th with the mega battle the week after.
All are welcome!

Where'd you get all the Star Wars toys Matt??

Its a mix, searching high and low.
The Trojans are Otterware, the light tanks are otterwear and steel crown turrets. The Gorgons and AtAts are micromachines. The infantry are Industrial Heavy Infantry that Steve was kind enough to paint. The artillery are Otterware gunshields and earthshaker barrels with forgeworld heavy platforms.
And I just realised my hydras are just hydras - I better do something about that lol.

I made a thread with some more pictures here. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=20804

The Star Wars ones all look to be micro machines mini vehicles (the smaller ones that came in 3 packs or larger sets, rather than the action fleet series, and the plastic ones not the die-cast).

Week 2.

4 players played another 3, 2000pt games today.

1x Speed Freeks
1x Krieg army
1x Minervan Tank Legion
1x Necrons

There were some huge engagements (Krieg vs Speed Freeks - both are horde type armies) and some awsome clipping assaults (Minervan Salamanders attacking Necron Monliths with lots of Leman Russ support). Ork airpower ruled the skies over the Krieg.

The game results:
Speed Freeks vs Krieg - 0:1 to Krieg (Take & Hold) Victory point win to Speed Freeks
Krieg vs Necrons - 3:0 to Krieg (Take & Hold, Break Their Spirit, They Shall Not Pass)
Minervans vs Necron - 3:1 to Minervans (They Shall Not Pass, Defend The Flag, Break Their Spirit to They Shall Not Pass)

Things don't look good for the ATAT (Warhound proxy).

This is how Krieg capture multiple objectives when 1 of their Gorgons is immobilised!

This is how a Shadowsword hides from Necron Pylons!

Leman Russ tanks scour the Necron ruins.

Campaign map after week 2.
Image
Scott (Minervans) is now leading the campaign with 6pts, (despite only playing and winning 2 games he’s been able to claim 2 of the 2pt territories from the inner ring) closely followed by Matt’s Krieg and then Jason’s Speed Freeks.
Whoever plays their game first next week will be able to capture the other 2pt territory!
It looks like the whole map will be claimed next week...
Who will secure the airbase in the center hex?
Surely, they have all the other players snapping at their heels for a game to try and capture it from them!

A few more photos HERE.

Next week were progress to 2500pts. Bring on some big guns!

It's also how the Shadowsword's Commissar makes sure the Gorgon does its duty for the Emperor without flinching.

Well week 3 has come and gone. Horde style armies are doing well with both Krieg and Speed Freeks winning games this round. In other news, I still haven't won a game during the campaign...

Week 3 of the campaign saw 9 players play 5 games at 2500pts.

• 2x Speed Freeks
• 2x Necrons
• 1x Tau
• 1x Krieg
• 1x Space Wolves
• 1x Codex Marines
• 1x Minervans

The game results:

• Krieg vs Minervans 5:0 (They Shall Not Pass, Defend The Flag, Break Their Spirit, Take and Hold, Blitzkrieg)
• Necrons vs Tau 2:0 (Break Their Spirit, Take and Hold)
• Speed Freeks vs Space Wolves 4:0 (They Shall Not Pass, Break Their Spirit, Take and Hold, Blitzkrieg)
• Speed Freeks vs Codex Marines 2:1 (Take and Hold, Blitzkrieg to Ratt ? )
• Krieg vs Necrons 3:0 (They Shall Not Pass, Take and Hold, Blitzkrieg)

Matt and Scott do battle on the Tau board.

Adam and Nathan face off over some industrial terrain.
Image

Jack and Simon play on the Necron board.
Image

Jason and Chris across a Tyranid infested waste land.
Image

Matt and I fight on the Tau themed board.

So Matt (Krieg) has stormed into the lead with 10pts. Jason (Speed Freeks), Jack (Necrons) and Scott are in 2nd place on 5pts. Adam is on 3 pts. Aaron has 2pts whilst Simon (Tau), Georg (Biel Tan), Chris (Space Wolves), Nathan (Codex Marines) and Myself (Necrons) all have 1pt.

Now Matt has played brilliantly and thoroughly deserves the lead at the half-way point.
Of course, good fortune plays a part in any game and this is what happened when Matt rolled 12 dice needing 5′s or 6′s…

Nice one Matt :)

Another Sunday, another array of epic battles.
The game vs Minervans was fun, realising he had me out gunned (9 basilisks! 9 Leman Russes! 3 Super heavies!) on a board with most of the centre blocked by terrain, I decided to play like an ork doing triple moves forward for a Waaagh! in turn 2 with massed guard infantry. This worked better than expected, and Chops unfortunately got completely swamped, giving me a solid 5-0.

The match vs Steve's Necrons was a lot less one-sided, as his Aeonic Orb must have been the MVP by a huge margin. With one shot it broke 3 warhounds with it's 12 BP weapon, a theme it repeated throughout the turns as Steve used it perfectly.
It wasn't enough though, as the rest of the army was brutalised in assaults. I used the unusual tactic of having Shadowswords not fire their Titan Killing gun vs the Necrons in favour of intiating extra assaults, which sounds crazy since they have the best firepower of all super heavies and the worst assault ability, but with infantry formations carefully placed to support them it turned the tide of the battle and guaranteed a Krieg win.

If there is one thing I hope everyone learns from that it is that you don't take on Darth Vader's formation in hand to hand combat :D
