Normal kids' plasticine (as opposed to the type of plasticine used by freakish, abnormal, kids).

Interesting, I tried plasticene but found the stuff I got to be too dirty and sticky. Is there a trick to using it?

Using super sculpey now with much better success.

Hm not that i could say, ive been using it for a few years without trouble, but i suppose there are lots of different manufacturers so could all be a bit different. I use super sculpy for mould making as well, but only to take up space inside my vacuum desecrater for faster evacuation times, I can see it would work well in place of plasticine though. :)

plastacine melts into a liquid in hot water, and then soap takes the oil off.

you can also pour it for casting that way too.

No, no, no. Look at it. The dorsal turret is on the back. Yours was on the top face.

See? Completely different!

Seriously though, the commission was to make the one in Raiders, so I did, with minimal changes.

Not two piece, but while were on the topic...

I've been running the numbers on my trenches:

Image

Once they get cast, which I'm doing anyway since the spackle I used is proving hard to keep attached to the P-card base, would $2 per emplacement and $4 per trench be a reasonable price?
Emplacements are 60mm x 50mm x ~8mm at the highest point. Trenches are 60mm x 130mm x ~8mm.

Please note the trenches are 13mm in effective width, and are designed specifically to work with GW style (40mmx12mm) strip bases. Partly thats what I have, partly 20mm trenches look too wide to my eye.

are WIP, but not as close to being complete. Still some p-card work, and no spackle yet.

Sounds like there are different types then. The plastacine I used was impervious to even boiling water and soap - to the extent that my Lego mold box was distorting while plastacine just sat there saying "come on! Is that all you've got?!". Had to use White spirit and an old toothbrush in the end :(

I've noticed that that pic is excessively out of date...

Better ones:

Trench section:

Gun Emplacement:

Group shot - need to sand the two rear trenches on one side, but otherwise ready to cast:

No interest in the trenches though?

Ultimately it won't matter, as I need more than I'm willing to make by hand anyway, but raise your hand if you're interested.

As far as I'm aware, trenchworks don't sell well.

Those are very nice and the price sounds good, but im afraid i wouldn't be interested (would want more detailing + not all my stuff is on strip basses).

*edit, the trenches that is
