Sorry for the delay in getting on this, as I have been away for a bit. Also, many thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts and comments. I am always looking for ways to improve things here, and I am very aware that I think 'sideways' and what seems OK to me can sometimes be confusing for others.
Many of your points are well made, and are basically a product of evolution of the boards. For example, the sticky threads are fairly common and have broken links as I am due to archive them, and they were made before the most recent forum software upgrade. New software lead to a change in the web address... which broke all of the links. The layout of the board is also for a similar reason. The boards started as being dedicated to Epic and BFG. Later, a more general wargames section was added, and this has grown while the BFG has not taken off as much as I would have hoped (and I am in discussion about changing the structure of this section).
Your suggestion on the stickies is probably the easiest to implement. As much as I would like to deal with this and archive them, broken links and the number of them probably makes this unmanageable and many should now be un-stickied.
The issue on cross-over of a few topics is something that I feel we will most likely have to live with, although I do agree that it could probably be better defined. This is because the 'official' development (and I use the term in the loosest way!) should be seperate from more general threads. For example, I will shortly post an alternative IG list, but this will be for my own use only, and I have no delussions of official status for it, where other lists and discussion should concern only the official tournament lists.
There are not any issues with registrations for any specific email domains at this time. That said, I have had to increase the security to check for spam registrations as we were getting a fair number of spam/advertising threads from bogus accounts. In these cases, it can take longer to get registrations approved, and some may slip through the system and get caught up. However, I do attempt to manually activate any accounts within 24 hours of getting an email, and I have added a note to the general 'welcome' email to ask users to drop me an email if their account is not approved quickly.
