So after a year or so of having bought the initial components and a decade (?) of collecting epic ruins,
I've finally put myself to work on my new table: a cityfight table.
The Theme of a cityfight table is of course ruins and lots of them. Add in a few craters and other blown up stuff and your well on your way.
Since I've made modular terrain before (last table got destroyed due to wear and tear), I wanted to make another one.
This time though, I would make it stronger, better and Bigger!
The table will be quite crowded and so will probably favor more infantry based armies, but that is one of the ideas behind it.
We have already tested the table a few times and made some adjustments for better gameplay.
There will be "light rubble" (5+ cover, counts as open terrain and will not block LOS) and regular rubble.
It all started with a rough sketch:

The mock up (what we used to playtest).
The surface is made from hi-density insulation foam, glued on a hardboard surface.

I added holes for craters and used cardboard for sidewalks.

One of the adjustments to the plan was to make some of the ruins removable from the table, or a least exchangeable.
To do this, I made a few hardboard cut outs. It is a bit thick for epic, but It's cheap and doesn't warp.

A hill (or the start of one, I'm not yet satisfied with this one, might need to make a new one

Started work on moddeling the craters

To be continued..
