Very nice indeed. What process are you using to get that yellow looking the way it does?

I assume you mean on the Eldar, as for the Wolves it is just Golden Yellow over Iyanden Darksun.

The Eldar start off with a full basecoat of Iyanden Darksun, which is then washed with watered down Devlan Mud. Then I paint all the panels Iyanden Darksun again, leaving the cracks showing. After that it is a 50/50 Darksun and Golden Yellow mix, then I add some Skull White for highlights. On some (notably the infantry) I skip the second Iyanden Darksun and highlight with pure Golden yellow - that way the armoured tanks get the most attention. I experimented with using Gryphonne Sepia, but found it didn't shade enough.

Anyways, sorry for taking so long - I've had these done and photographed for a few days but the weekend is the busiest time at work for me.

And I made a base for the Thunderhawk - I even magnetized it by sinking a rare earth magnet into the underside of the hull, and gluing another to the top of the flying stand. I also noticed after taking these pictures that I forgot to go back and paint the edges black - oops!

And now my current WIP shot:

That's somewhere around 40 tanks, plus a bike formations and 8 Dreads. Got them as a gift from a friend a long time ago, but they were caked with paint. Simple Green to the rescue! I've already scrubbed 20 or so, but the dang container still looks full. Going to be a few days before I get back to painting.

Thanks for looking!

Ah, at first I thought it was an enormous Gelatinous Cube, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gelatinous_cube , that had been eating armies.

Oddly, had a DnD group that all managed to get sucked into the cube except the last person, who said they liked their character too much. Everyone else had tried to get the first person out by pulling on his arm . . .

And thanks!

So I've spent the last week cleaning up the models - seems I have an odd number of a couple things, like only two Whirlwinds and nine Predators. And two spare Rhinos. Going to have to figure out what I am going to use those for.

Anyways, I've got some work done on a Devastator formation, including four Razorbacks. I've also decided that rather than mangling Warmaster bases, I'm just going to mount all my vehicles on modular movement tray cast offs.

Hope to have some more pictures done soon! I've been spending all my time working on a WHFB Empire army I need done for Easter weekend. I think I have 600 out of 2500pts painted. Eep.

Threadromancy!

I have been lurking since my last posts, but I had to share what I worked on this morning. I got dared to do it after musing out loud to a friend. 13 stands down, somewhere in the vicinity of 36+ more to go.

Now I have an epic Vostroyan army to match my 40k one. Now the ultimate question is how long will I last?

Excellent! big furry hats rock. I ust say the fluff surrounding the Vostroyan First born is excellent.
A friend of mine used 6mm napoleonics for his Vostroyans, although i cannot remember which regiment they were, french i think.

Very cool. All that conversion work definitely makes for a unique army.

If you get tired of sculpting you could always check out Baccus' Napoleanic or Franco-Prussian ranges for Bearskin heads that you could lop off:

J,

Nice conversions on the furry hats chap, You must have some patients to do that many stands ;) Look forward to seeing the finished paint jobs on the furrys and also to see what those tanks come out like from the simple green ;)

Your minies all look amazing. The level of detail you have gone into, especially on the marines, is awesome.

This looks like the jelly at an adaptus mechanicus birthday party.

Out of interest, how long does simple green take to work? Does the time taken depend on the paint used on the minies?
