I wanna make a BFG play board. Whats a good size to make? Its just gona be used for regualt sized 1 on 1 battles, not major multi fleet battles. Anyone know of any sites that give useful constrution info about this sorta thing? Or anywhere I could pick up a desent looking space picture to glue to a board "to then be covered in 3mm clear plastic" Or will I have to spend time painting my own?

There are a few articles about this kind of thing around, even in the official Gothic publications. At a basic level, I have an 8 x 4 foot table that I simply cover with a large piece of black felt (I also have green and grey for Epic). Alternatively, you can simply paint it black and spatter white paint over it. Alternative, the official NASA site has some good pictures, as do other space or computer graphic sites. However, these will need to be printed on a large paper first.
Maybe these are a few ideas.

I have two 4' by 3' boards I put together to make a nice big 4 x 6 board- I just painted them black, and then used the 'toothbrush method' to spatter some decent-looking stars on...

Hi!
I'd recommend to make it by peices so it can be easy to store and use. 8 2 x 2 foot squares can make a large or small table depending on what you need and can be stored easily.

A nice 4x6 deep space mat is available from the company that replaced GEO-Hex. It's black felt with stars, nebulas, etc. ... it's cool looking !

I use a Geo Hex star scape map, the hex one. I have painted my own starscape on the back so I can go either way (so to speak ). Highly recommended, and best storage option

I found this realy nice pic of the orion nebular on the net. Its so nice Id realy like to use it as a BFG board. After careful calculation Ive divided the pic into 20 squares, making a board of 4'x5'. All I need now is to have it printed. Does anyone have a clue about how I should go about this? I need to find a company that can print each square to a 30cm x 30cm size. I then have plans to construct a handy folding board.
Ive shrunk the picture and put it in my BFG folder if anyone would like to view it.
