Nice and evil, heh! Don't let the demagogues fool you. ;D

Next is an update for my tyranids.

First, some genestealer reinforcements. I made one more grey genestealer (in case I want to ditch the broodlord). Then I made a mixed colour formation to go with the zoat. These are the three colour schemes.
Image

and a shot of the complete second formation (8 genestealers)
Image

and led by the Zoat (hrm, I mean Broodlord)
Image

and then a Tyranid Warrior formation. I use termagaunts as unit fillers, and this formation is mixed colours (to go with the previous brown and green ones)

As always, thanks for watching and chatting

I also managed to finish a second Harridan.

For wing membranes, I used a similar scheme as with the green one, only with reds instead of greens. I start off with 1:1 khaki/dark leather, followed by a khaki drybrush. I then use a "dirt ink mix", consisting of red, black and brown. Finally, I make thin khaki highlights following the patterns suggested by the ink wash.

I'm trying to clear my work space of started paint jobs, so updates should be more frequent for now.
Cheers,
Fredmans

Thanks for the very kind comments, folks. This is a test piece for upcoming Khorne Daemonic Engines.

Part of Assault Engine:
Image

Where I want cultist reds to look like clothing, and where the Hounds and Daemon Prince were painted in a more brownish red (the DP looks like a dog with wings anyway), I want the Daemonic Assault Engines to look more "cool", like possessed metal, so I opted for a bluish tinge. I especially wanted to avoid the original 90's Khorne look with blazing reds and brass. Therefore, the skulls are painted in grays and the brass is highlighted with a bit of chainmail silver. The gun has some blue in its ink wash.

Since the flash is playing tricks with the colours, I add a picture sans-flash (but with Arctic daylight instead).

Anyway, I just want to make sure it is not too Slaanesh and still sufficiently Khorne to proceed. Please let me know what you think.

So, I managed to finish these buggers. The details were in abundance, so to speak, but I tried to stick to a basic colour scheme with muted colours to dampen the Khorne effect a bit. I am quite pleased with them, although these older models have both their charms and flaws (mould lines one of the worst).

As I said in my WIP, I have tried to steer off from the blazing reds and bright bronzes of old school Khorne. Instead I have tried to get a coolish daemonic tinge (with some blue in it). The skulls are painted in a scale of greys instead of white, the metal parts have blue in their ink washes and the bronze parts is finished with a 1:1 mix of bronze and silver. This was my attempt to unify all the various colours going on on these models.

For this engine, I used a black helmet to tie it to the Khorne Marines who are part of the Cultists.

This has been a pet project of mine, and I have not had time to execute it until now. Two artillery commissars for my Steel Legion army.

Commissar 1 (with MP performing quality control).

Commissar 2 (upholding discipline/removing BM:s):

Thanks for watching,

Finally, I've managed to finish something off. I wanted a second formation of Stormtroopers for my Steel Legion. The army group is taking shape and will consist of a core of Steel Legion units with a few support platoons from other IG armies. For Stormtroopers in Valkyries, I wanted a unit of Elysians and Valkyries to go with them. The Valkyries would match my other Imperial Navy assets. I also went for a "campaign" marker to show the air units' affiliation with said army group, using stripes and bands of the regiment's uniform colour.

Elysian stormtroopers led by a Commissar:
Image

For my storm troopers I opted for the colour scheme presented in Imperial Armour 3. Desert uniform with a greenish gray body armour. I added helmet markings for platoon commanders and squad sergeants and also added a stand of veterans (red stripe on left shoulder pad).

The Valkyries (as well as my previous Navy units) are painted in desert camouflage on the top and sky camouflage on the bottom.

I did some markings to show that these are the 1st through 4th Valkyries of the 221st Air Wing. The yellow stripe is their campaign mark and the commissar has a black panel with an imperial eagle to bolster troop morale while airborne.
