Typo: Tauros Venator Twin Multilaser is AP4+/AT6+, should be AP4+/AT5+.

Rug and Honda: I'm about to update the IG compendium. I need to know what status you think the Elysians should have (Developmental - almost ready for tourneys, Experimental - still has bugs) and whether a revision will be soon in coming.

Rug... Really? Honda just added a whole host of units, removed one other unit, and modified the formations. I haven't seen any posted batreps under 3.x. I am a big Elysian player and I haven't played one game with the new list. Honda hasn't fixed some very basic internal balance issues to boot (ex. Mortars). IMO this list is Experimental at best. Not trying to step on your toes; just trying to put it into perspective as somebody who has followed this list quite closely.

Moscovian: If Honda gets around to implementing the changes discussed over the last few pages, I'd say most of your issues would be addressed. However, Honda has disappeared again.

I think this is a list of changes to the current list as it appears on page 1 of this thead as agreed upon by Honda:

Agreed Changes:

These stats were selected by Honda for the new Cyclops unit:

IIRC he wanted them at 1-3 units for 25pts each as an Upgrade choice.

Typo: Tauros Venator Twin Multilaser is AP4+/AT6+, should be AP4+/AT5+.




Personally, I still think the "Iron Discipline" Special Rule needs to be deleted, as the rule looks to be very overpowered to me (And it comits a worse sin too, in that it removes tactical complexity from the game).

He's got pneumonia. I'm sure he'll be back on the horse in no time though.

With that said, I still don't see any playtesting being done, no batreps; just discussion. I suppose we can call their status anything we want, but I believe that by calling it we're selling the list as being more tested than it is. IMO you can't drop five new units into a list, never playtest it, and call it "almost ready for tournaments". It could have external balance issues as well - we just don't know.

Have been trying to build some army lists.

In practical terms, I can't see a reason to ever take Valkyries or Vendettas for the core infantry choices.

7 IG units & a Command unit, +4 Valkyries - 350pts (Soon to be 375pts)
8 Storm Trooper units, +4 Valkyries - 350pts

For the minor loss of not having a Commander along for the ride, the Storm Trooper formation is considerably better.

To compensate for the loss of teleport, the cost of the Valkyrie & Vendetta upgrades for the core companies probably need to come down quite a bit (Assuming the base costs are ok), perhaps as far as 50pts for 4x Valkyries or 100pts for 4x Vendettas.

Quite. I've played ~30 games against the NetEA Black Templars list for example, but haven't written up a single report. I doubt that's an unusual trend.

Okay, I'll take a pass on the batreps. How many GAMES have been played with the Elysian 3.x list? If it is more than ten for the whole community (including Honda) I'll be shocked. My guess is less than five.
