March 12th, 2011 starting at 1100 we have an all day Epic event for new players looking to get into the game and old grudges needing to be settled. Feel like just throwing down for a game? We'll have that too.

Special Events will include:

Chaos Invasion!: Our host DanW will be setting up a big battle for a Chaos planetfall into a large Imperial City. What is to become of the poor people who reside within this resin metropolis?

Worst Army Ever: Think you have the worst army list ever? Bring it and we'll put it to the test. Swap armies with another player and now do your best to give your own army the beat down. But you'll only be as well equipped as your opponent's worst army allows you to be. ;D

The Epic Trophy: Once again the trophy has fallen back into the hands of team Bethlehem Resin. The Adeptus Ineptus can't hold onto it and the Maryland team seems incapable of even showing up for the fight. Will there be an upset! Only time will tell...

Have I met Dan? I don't remember him from the MD thing last year but there were a couple of people I didn't get to meet that day.

I would bring an army composed of one 3000pt formation of Ork Buggies. :-)

You may want to set some minimum activation limits! :-P

I said one warband with 118 Boyz and 114 Grotz... Maybe a minimum activation of 6 Bill?

I don't know - if somebody can field it I am inclined to let them. Although I may have a rule of no counts-as models (in other words WYSIWYG). That will preclude most players from fielding crazy armies just from a cost perspective (I mean really, who has that many buggies?). Orks seem to be the only army that are going to fall victim to the uber-crazy 1 activation and I'm not so sure that they'd do all that terrible against another 'worst army' list.

I remember an auction for 40 Whirlwinds once. That would have made a hilarious army.

Ah, another rule is that you must attempt to get as close to 3000 points as possible (in other words, if there is room to buy another formation or add-on you need to take it). Of course a clever player will find a way to have the army come in at a small deficit regardless.

What's the deal on deployment options? Does the list writer get to determine where things start and how they enter play? Or is that up to the player?

No, you just make up the list, otherwise you could stick a ton of Eldar formations off board with little to no hope of them arriving, or other devious types of plans. The whole idea is to try to create a fair list that you think nobody can play. It is up to your challenger to be able to maximize your options.

So, for example, if you wanted to bring a Thunderhawk, the opposing player could load it up or leave it unladen depending on his strategy. There are a lot of tricky things people can attempt but all of them have the potential to backfire and make your army a winner.

I was hoping I could load up a Battle Barge with a Landing Craft full of Land Raiders. :P

I managed to make a list with 5 BTSs though. :D

Bill, do you mean worst to play with, or worst to play against?

Either way, an Ork army entirely composed of tiny Kommando formations should rank fairly high on the list (always assuming someone can stump up that enormous number of Kommandos :))

The whole idea is to create an army that, in your opinion, will hands down lose any conflict. Of course a player can't be expected to fight with the goal of losing, so the players will swap armies and do their best to win with their opponent's army. The winner ends up displaying that, even with a crappy army, his own is crappier.

That has got to win by default - the Deamons cannot be summoned and the spaceship only gets one shot!!
