Love the tech-marines! Great paint job on the old metal Marine Mole Mortars.

Thanks. It is amazing how much bigger those mortar marines are compared to the plastic ones (newer and older).

Yes the SM1 metal stuff was huge, I like the sm1 marines and have a few but when you put them next to normal marines and other epic stuff they look like marines on steroids ;D , Great work on this blog aswell there are some great conversions and the paintwork is spot on ;) Keep the pics coming, regards epic

So I just realized that I have not done the "money shot" of most painting blogs, which is the full army pic. Here is the Dark Angels in all their glory, protecting a Planetary Defenseturm. Having them all together, I didnt realize how small the SM armies actually are. I will have a lot more completed soon, so this will grow over the next few weeks.

That dinky little thunderfire cannon is awesome!

Scratch built I take it? What parts did you use?

It is cool to see how quickly a thread can fall off the first page in this forum. Means a lot of niffty stuff is being done out there. So to get me back on page 1, here are my Assault marines. The only problem I have with these guys is the fact that the jump packs cover half the shoulder pad, so i could only do half the X on the right pads and half the DA symbol on the left. Oh well.

And I want a Chaplain to go with this squad sometimes, so, since I only have the plastic ones, I had to make him a jump pack from another assault marine. I also wanted to change up his Crozious. It is a bit big, but not too much more than what he is usually armed with. I will live.

Image

Finally, here are my old school Predators. More stuff from the Armory to help out the 4th company.

Now all I have left for my 4th company is a unit of tactical marines, squads 4-6. They are primed and ready to go. Already did their rhinos.

Very nice, great job on the shoulder pads, especially the one on the chaplain looks excellent.

Yup, this is by far THE Epic forum to push you into the oblivion of page 2. I try to feel your pain about half shoulder pad symbols, but somehow fail. Really good work. It is amazing how a great paint job can bring out the character of the old Predators. With your colour scheme, they almost seem like a stealth design. I like the idea of older marks as reserves, and I might have to get a pair some day.

Didn't notice the use of Ork Nobz as Servitors untill now. That's a brilliant idea!

So I decided to take a little DA break and make an entry for the Exodus Wars Feb competition. I went back to my first Epic army, the Orks, and decided to do this little guy up.

Image

I think he is detailed enough. Wish i could take better pics though.

Yes, the blue in the syringe is at an angle. That is cause the model is actually holding it at that angle. Unfortunately the orientation of the model in the pic doesnt really show that.

I thought this is a 6mm thread and not for Wh40k models? :D

Serious: Top notch :)

And here is my last bit of the Dark Angels 4th company. I am a little sad, as this represents pretty much the end of this army. Sure, I have 5 more Land Speeders, a couple units of Jetbikes (I still need to cast) and a bit or bob here and there, but this is about it.

Next army will be to finish up the IG I bought a couple months back. It is really mostly all painted, but I want to re-paint their bases and do some touch up on the vehicles where it was chipped. And some superheavy tanks....
Shouldnt take long.

Image

I was asked how to differentiate between units, in case they get mixed up, so I added the unit number on the Shoulderpads of the far end guys. Roman numerals would have been easier, but I have used regular numbers everywhere else, so was stuck. I might go back and number them all at some date.... or not
