I have just looked through the last couple of pages. Your stuff all looks great. I really admire your ability to paint muted colours with great highlights. Are you using Vallejo Model Colours or is it some other manufacturer? You also put in a lot of work on details like markings in bolder colours. This work really makes your minis shine. The mottle (?) effect on the titans look great, but it is the yellow that makes the miniatures really pop. Will follow your progress on the Vraksians closely. The miniatures look fantastic.

I'm a big fan of the GW Foundation series, especially for basecoats. The colors are less bright, less toy-like, which allows me to pretend a little easier with my "toys".

However, I will use just about anything (VMC, P3, GW) when I am after a specific effect. I do tend to stick with the Foundation series the most, though.

I should have some more pics this week. After applying Charadon Granite symbols and such on the red, I gave them a couple of coats of the Baal Red wash and I like how that turned out.

Thanx for the feedback!

Cheers,

Do you thin them a lot? I agree that you get a much more realistic tone with them, but find it a little bit troublesome when I paint 6mm that they contain so much pigment.

Yes, absolutely and apologies if I didn't make that point before. I use my "poor man's wet palette" technique with the Foundation series (see the posting following MoK's on techniques).

As far as a group shot goes...that should be doable. Won't promise on the details necessarily, but you should be able to see a group of little bits of plastic, resin, and metal. ;D

Thanx for all the feedback!

Cheers,

So, here's the first few bits of my Vraksian Renegades. The most part of a Malcador company and a Valdor support formation.

I decided to take a bit of time with these as I really wanted them to look like they were recognizable from the IA books. To that point, I did a number of silly things like adding writing to the vehicle sides, using glazes to dull the base coat, GW washes and finally, I even used weathering powders to give them a rusty dull look. This ended up turning a little pink on the red vehicles, but I am addressing that with Devlan Mud.

So here goes, in no particular order...
