So there are plenty of Dominatrix models out there that people don't like and I'm one of those. I found one picture of one converted that looks quite good (almost like a horse). I'm not sure where I got the image, but it is basically doesnt have the original head or the organism on its back. A new head has been added that extends upwards like a horse's neck/head.

Anyway, although I like this concept, I wanted to keep the Dominatrix creature relatively the same with the head, but without the organism on the back. I was thinking of trying to somehow just remodel the back to include 1 or 2 40k tyranid weapons as I was hoping to be lazy and not cut the existing cannon off.

What do people think?

Anyone did anything different with their Dominatrix?

I use a Vorgax Ultra from Monsterpocalypse. Some washes, a nice base, matt varnish to take off the gloss, done!

I've now cut off the weapon from my Dominatrix... still trying to think what the best way to do this. I tried taking a 40K Carnifex top armour and put 40K cannons on either side. Think I'll try and get a mock up to see if it'll work.

Where do the 6 bio cannon shots come from now?

The picture above I posted isn't mine I'm afraid, but I'm planning on trying something similar. Unfortunately I already have a Dom painted with the existing head, so reluctant to change it to keep it consistent.

Although I can now model armour plates, I'm always trying to find quick ways by using 40K pieces.

Not keen on the giant head, but with some greenstuff work the armoured carapace could work nicely.

I agree with zombocom. the larger head just dose not look right. But the work done on the back is notch. Keep up the good work.

What about a gaunt or warrior head rather than the carnifex head?

I think the gaunt head would look good if you built it into the carapace. If the head looks disproportionally big, the legs look too small, like on a dachshund. Have you considered a Ripper head instead?

yeah, the head was really having some fun. I'm avoiding Gaunt heads, as I've used these for my Carnifex, Hive Tyrant and bio titans (can't remember the name)... so pretty much almost everything lol.

I think a small head does help a lot when trying to give a sense of scale to large tyranid monsters. I never really loved gaunt heads on tyranid titans, but some can pull it off okay. See what you prefer.

Finally thinking of finishing this and came up with new concept. Going to pu in the effort and make the armour plates mnyself rather than try and use the 40k armour.
