Always thought the top mounted lascannon chaos Landraider was a goofy sculpt.

A Mk2 (E40k style) Land raider with Chaos Iconography (Ie. some spikes and chaos stars and a few skulls) would be good. If you....erh I mean GW wanted to do something original and interesting rather than just make a small version of something already in production I'd say do a mix of the MK1 and the Mk2: Ie: Use the longer wider chassis of the later versions, but with completely exposed tracks and sponsons like the Mk1. That would give it a rough look that I think fits Chaos very well.

Hey guys,

For me, I think that GW would make something similar to what they have done with all their Chaos stuff, simply copy the existing loyalist and go from there. So in looking at that, I think with some cool looking eight pointed stars, dragons heads and maybe even some ability to make them a specific faction like you can with the 40k stuff. cant be to hard to make sponsons with icons on them, or even the doors and ramp top.

I have a couple of the old Epic 40k models and they do look goofy compaired to others.

Cheers
Aaron

Would chaos players want the lascannon sponsons only? What other variations are canon? Must check FW website.

The Mark IIB sponsons would be pretty cool as an option. Perhaps they could be constructed to plug into both side holes, allowing a single chassis type?

I believe most variants were post-heresy as per the fluff so SG would probably only need to make a standard version. One armed with Twin Reaper Autocannons might be cool though, and a havoc launcher maybe?

The hull on the IIB is a bit different too IIRC with a fixed forwards Heavy Bolter.

Killjoy.

Edit - some MkIIb esque sponsons could still make a nice variation for the more modern LR chassis, untl SG makes a proper MkIIb chassis.

One Twin Heavy Bolter and two Twin Lascannon sponsons are the only options for Chaos Land Raiders. Can have one pintle-mounted Combi-weapon (Twin-Bolter, Bolter-Flamer, Bolter-Meltagun or Bolter-Plasmagun) or one Havoc Launcher.

If SG made one based on the current designs then they'd be able to reuse much of the design for non chaos varients.

Gentlemen,

Looking at BL has said, maybe SG could make a model with some options off a base hull, sponsons and a plug in interchangeable with a CSM with a combi weapon, or the Havoc Rack or the Twin Bolter combination. That would allow those that like to see differences in their odels the ability to mix and match. Wouldn't that be nice to see. Sponsons could be Legion specific or have some standard chaos iconography on them to add to the feel.

Cheers
Aaron

This thread makes me wish I'd chose a screenname with different initials.

Facts, Jackson:

The E40K loyalist and chaos land raiders use twin vertical holes to mount to the side sections. Lascannons are oriented vertically.

The SG LR uses some sort of funky octagonal mating plate. Lasers are mounted horizontally, as per canon.

None of the above mates with anything I have manufactured.
