So, I seem to have caught whatever bug is going round the office, and had today and most of yesterday off work. I was hoping I'd feel better by now but still feel just as bad. Baring a miracle, I'll be a no show this weekend, sorry.

Excellent two days, and we now have a story for the battle for the last Mechanicus Hive installation in the next supplement book...

Amen to what all the others said really, cracking tourney - and kudos to MoK for sorting it all out!

Big hand to Cut n Thrust too - superb venue who went the extra mile to accomdate us.

Sadly couldn't make day two as the wife was unwell, but hoping that some pics may appear on here in the next day or so....

Same time next year guys?!

Cheers
Reedar

With 90% of UK tournaments a combination of "up north" & "EUK lists only", I'm hoping for another Bristol tourney in the next couple of months!

You can count EW in :). Hell, I should even be able to attend this one as long as we get ample notice :D.

I'd love to dust off the studio army!

Thanks to Ryan, Carlos and Daz and all of Sunday's players for great games. I really enjoyed putting faces to screen names, and pawing at all the shiny models on offer. I hope to see you all again at various points through the year.

And thanks to Cut and Thrust's Alex - there's a man with a genuine hobby thirst pumping it back into the community.

It's a me.

It was unusual to see multiple Whirlwind formations, Tacticals and Land Raiders. Best of luck in Belgium next month. And though I understand our mainland European friends play a shootier game I think a few nippier units are in order to either pave the way for or consolidate the position of your Thunderhawks.

Not wanting to encourage net-listing, but you can see what others do to succeed with Marines.

Steve54 won the Epic UK Grand Tournament with this Marine list.

The Real Chris won Britcon with this list.

Epic UK's website is really useful to see other people's lists.

You could also pop a thread up on Flame On to thrash out a list with the formations you've got painted.

Great tournament. Fantastic to see all these new faces - looking at all the same old grizzly mugs across the gaming table has started to get unpleasant (joke).

Cheers to my opponents, Thomas, Sam and Al for same really entertaining games (each in their own way)
Cheers to Ryan for hosting the event, his continuing passion for the hobby and his general loveliness
Cheers to Alex for letting is play in his lovely shop. Hope it's a big success (and he finally get's his card reader installed)

Next southern gig should definitely by the Same format is BWW.

You gunna post the results Ryan pal?

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys: I had a great time running the event and really pleased to be able to play in it as well: thankyou to everyone who came along, a massive thanks to all those who helped setup, packdown, transport my stuff back home, donated prizes and made the event possible: and of course, as we've all said MASSIVE THANKS to Alex and the guys at Cut and Thrust Wargames: awesome venue, awesome entusiasm that we hope to use again some time.

We made a small profit on the prize money so will be reinvesting that into more of our own epic related scenery for next event (which, yes, will probably be soon!)

Without further ado then I shall present you all with the Much awaited photo's of the day and announce the prize winners :-)

Bristol Vanguards own Ben Edgar came first for the second year in a Row with 130/144pts!

Winning a £20 in store voucher

Army Dave came 2nd with 120 pts Winning several sets of fabulous Edenite Infantry :-)

Taccomm's Carlos with his crazy looking Tyranid army came a very close 113pt third
Image
And won a couple of donated scratchbuilt Zombie Robot Pyramids

Bristol Boy Tom (he of the cubey Necrons) took away the Players Choice vote by storm winning himself a set of Space Borks by E&C
Image

Whilst Ninjabread artist Chris Webb took away the Judges Choice with his Black Scars (Ravenwing) army (more space Borks!)
Image

The SLAYER SWORD (epic scale) of conversion skill was soundly awarded to Jonluke for his superheavy Stormhammers (which won him MORE SUPER HEAVIES from Exodus wars to put into his army!)
Image

Markus Hawkesford fielding a single t.hawk and no warhounds marine list:
Image
Was awarded the Least Min/Max'd army Golden Command Raider and also gets a free ticket to an Epic UK event of his choosing!

As do I for supposedly being one of the most sporting players at the event (I'm the bearded bloke in all the above pictures), I'd like to point out that this only came to me after it was discovered that out of a draw of 4 people my Birthday was first...!

And as I'm sure has been mentioned above ZOG wins his second Wooden spoon and some Edenite Zombies to help him start the necrotic flesh eating invasion that will soon sweep out planet!

THANK YOU, and good night!
