Just joined the forum and wanted to say hi

I've followed the epic threads here for over 2 years with great interest and finally decided enough is enough and I want to get back into painting again ! (it was those awesome 'pasta' inspired IG tanks that tipped me over the edge ).

I dont have the time/space I used to have, so for now im going to continue a little project I started just before I quit making 40k armies but with epic figures

First up are Blood Angels - dont think they look too bad for 15 year old figures but I do need to update with the newer tanks and dreads (and please forgive the blurry photos - depth of field seems to elude me atm)

you know I was looking at your pics (little ones , not zoomed in) and I was like.... nice 40k army , but wtf? is this guy on coke? this is epic not 40k... lol , then I clicked on the and saw them properly, I cant remember the last time I saw that many epic guys painted but not on bases. but if you want a good tip, wash them with some badab black and it will bring out all the detail on them so they look even better. But good job non the less!

Are you planning on playing on 40k rules using the 6mm infantry.. Anyway paint scheme looks very good, as said in the above post, Inks are the way ahead, I have only just recently started using them myself and swear by them now, its amazing how much detail a touch of ink brings out

Thanks for the tips. Washes do seem far better nowadays than the GW inks I used to have (and never liked at all). Badab black - looks like its in the same ballpark as the 'Les Washes' I read about recently http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/po ... 61541.page ??



Im more into the painting/converting nowadays so doubt Ill get any gaming done with them. It would be neat to make a scale board + the templates etc though so you never know!

Got some more epic/mini 40k dudes - this time from a lightly larger space wolf force.

First up is a good old tactical squad

And second is some terminators (always a favourite )

hmm - is there a 3 file limit per post to attachments?

Todays pics are assault marines and a tech marine with servitors.

For the assault guys I tried to make sure each one had a different set of weapons - the flamers were stupidly fiddly.

The tech marine is about the most converted epic figure Ive ever done yet so quite proud of it - or at least I was until I took that bloody macro photo. Now I can see all the stuff I missed with the naked eye! gah

Here's the last of space wolves I have so far. Hmm - Im starting to think I should make a 'blog' thread - 'im back in the game' is just gunna confuse people...
