Yen's aunt in NYC is on death's door due to liver failure. Accordingly, we are going to perform an emergency fly-up Thursday night and stay for a few days... hopefully not for last goodbyes.

Are there any Epicers in the NYC area that can offer good karma and/or an emergency contact? I'm not above offering Otterware as a bribe.

Vanvlak, you don't live 500 miles west of NYC! Silly person.

Yen has told me that I don't need to accompany her, and should instead stay behind and keep my split-custody schedule on its normal track.

Now I'm grumpy that someone is going to see her naked X-ray image.

Tell her to Opt out...then make sure the TSA knows you'll start beating some A$$ if they touch her junk...That's at least what I would do.

Just received word that Yen's aunt died today. She never managed the trip to New York.

This particular aunt, Yen's older brother, and some assorted cousins, were separated from her part of the family during the troubles in Cambodia. Each group assumed the other had perished until both got to the States. Yen's older brother died of starvation before he could make it out.

Missed the post the first time... and very sorry to hear that Yen wasn't able to make it up to NYC. My condolences.

Do let me know if you come through NYC in the future -- we're moving to New Haven, so a trip to the city has become much more reasonable.
