Great job Zog

Especially like the apothecary and the devastators :)

Man you have a lot of dreads! Will they all get used?

Cheers...

Nice work.

I'm thinking or re-doing my BA's more orange. I made them much redder in 2006/7 and now which I'd stuck to their roots! I'll add it to the list of things to think about doing!

Nice, look forward to seeing them there: great to see that WW has inspired yet another army to be painted and played with :-)

I am gutted...
I just sprayed these with matt varnish and they have gone powdery white.
Anyone have any fixes?

Eeek :S
Can you see if this is because the surface is sort of rough or is it the varnish itself that has become unclear? You could try dipping a miniature in water: If the white dissapears when the miniature is wet there's a chance you might be able to salvage it by applying a different coat of varnish (You could try one applied by brush) For example one coat of gloss or semigloss varnish to fix the surface and then a new coat of matt varnish. Of course this is ending up an awfll lot of cots that will obscure some detail, but I'm afraid the alternative is to try and strip the old varnish...which almost certainly will strip the paint as well.

I've always been able to fix my snowed varnish models w/ a light drybrush of gloss varnish over it. Since then I stopped using spray matt varnish entirely as it tends to misbehave in cold/damp weather (UK!) and clogs up in places. I now use a liquid matt varnish that is designed for antiques restoration. Bought it in a paint shop, about £7 for 500ml which is more than I will ever need. Applying it by brush helps me avoid any pools of varnish and totally ignores the whole issue w/ cold/dampness as I can do it indoors (it doesn't smell).

Ok had an idea and tried it...

What do you think?

Back ones in progress of being repaired

Front are what happened

Dry Repaired Termi stand next to Devistator damage.

The remainder of the Devi's next to repaired Tac squads

I think its worked, not back to original paint job but at least re-claimed from stripping/binning.

Zog,
Gutted for you chap, but glad you have managed to find a way to salvage the minatures, I never put a clear coat on my figures, but was considering it, Dont think i will bother now....Did you find out what went wrong..bad batch or old spray can etc..

Regards epic
