Yeah I saw those, the idea to mix Kev101's models with those EW droids came from them, cheers.

Rastamann - the model in the centre of L4's pic is another of Kev101's, if your interested there's a thread somewhere with WIP sculpt pics or you could email him for details.

Thanks all for kind words, I've had far more responses than I thought I would get. It's kind of korny but it really does encourage me to paint more and finish this army when I see them!

It's been a quiet month for me again, I keep getting distracted almost every other day by one thing or another. As it is though I should complete my 500 points this month and with a bit of effort I'm hoping to do a bit more too.

The most frustrating set back I've had is tonight where I've been attempting to apply the finishing touches to a gorgon I' spent the last few days painting (I'm a very slow methodical painter). To finish it off I have to apply some very fine painted highlights in blood red but I've drunk so much coffee tonight I cant keep my hand steady which is gonna mean some clean up work tomorrow.

Hopefully I'll have finished pics by tomorrow and should be well on the way to completing a unit of forge knights

Ok so not an amazing amount of progress this month, the way I look at it is I've still got one month to catch up on everything

First up is my completed gorgon, to transport my praetorians. It may just be the way I've painted it but have you noticed what a sad / grumpy looking fellow it is. I think I'll have to call it M4RV1N.






Still it Loves Yen so it can't be all that grumpy

Lastly I've been working on a unit of 6 Forge knights (DRM Mantagen), I'd intended to finish them tonight but got sidetracked so I've included a couple of progress shots. 3/6 have had the final red highlight and just need the weapons, metal bits and glass panels picking out, the rest are waiting the red highlight and I've still got 12 arms to paint.





Which brings me onto what's left and I'm not looking forward to it tbh

11 stands of infantry (considering also painitng 4 stands of support weapons)
2 thunderbolts
3 hydras
5 chimera's
3 Ordinatus Minoris

* best get cracking.

I like the red look

The RED is driving me mad, I've been paiting nothing but red for the last 4 months! (And then I start a saim-hann army ).

It's starting to get to the point now where I'm really looking forawrd to finishing this off

I think the experience you gain while painting the Skitarii red
makes you a pro Saim Hann painter

Ok so I'm facing a couple of dilemas right now and could really use some opinions / insights

1/. My cross eyed forge knights

So I painted up the canopy either side of the head as I would any other window, trouble i it appears my usual technique doesn't work here so any ideas how I can make this look less goofy?





2/. which minoris?

I've got two options, the rather dashing plasma blast tigerclaw, which is huge but at the same time quite flat (unpainted on right)



or what I'd originally intended to use, a morrigu hull with an OOP heavy gauss cannon (two oics because I helpfully undercoated this one already and it's hard to see what it is.





So any thoughts? I'm totally stumped.

Currently doing a plastic scenery kickstarter

On the windows, try inverse highlights, with the bright green at the top rear instead of the front bottom.

I think the bottom minorus looks best. smaller which is fitting.
