Those Transporters look ace. That is an insane amount of weathering, and the details are executed perfectly. Great job.

Ok so this is going to be quite a massive Necron post. Hopefully tomorrow night I'll take a pic of the battleforce for epicomp. Anyway, after much toiling on the monoliths which somehow appeared deceptively simple and quick to paint I've got them finished and ready to go. That leaves me with the Nightbringer to paint and 9 wraiths to sculpt for the three stands I need to complete the 3k cron army. That said, If the weather is above 50F I'll be working on the DIY swap mini this coming week as well as assembling the last two thunderhawk landers for Cal. If not, I'll be painting the nightbringer and assembling models. Also on the list this week were the two remaining Necron objectives which are now finished :)

First set with their obelisks in formations:

And the second group:

And the objectives:

Thanks, but that color scheme is coming to a close shortly though I might add two more obelisks to let me have a bit more variety in my detachment choices and some scratch builds of the larger war engines.... ok come to think of it there is a bit more to go but not right away. :)

Very nice job on the crons !
Those are some of the sweetest looking ones I've seen (scream ones are pretty darn impressive too).

Really Really Very Cool

Any hints on how you painted these? Did you even use a wash?

Thanks! I keep telling myself one day I'll try NMM, but I just don't find the end result all that attractive even when it's done well.

Frogbear: I do use one wash of snot green to tint the black and unify the drybrushing before I blend up the black in the recesses and one wash of delvan mud over the gold. It's basically prime black, drybrush snot green, drybrush lightly with goblin green, wash with snot green, blend black in, highlight edges with snot green, hit extreme highlights with goblin, detail glowing bits with sunburst yellow to taste. Go back in and do the gold.

Well, I'm finally done with the nightbringer and this brings me to 2850 points painted for necron. I'm only lacking the last three stands of wraiths for this army to be "complete". In any event, I'll be moving onto a 40k marine for the DIY swap on Bolter and Chainsword next before hitting the last two landers for Cal's IF army.
