that would be amusing but not necessarily fair! I'd have no idea how to give tourney points for a game like that!

BYE for 26 points seems to work ok.

If you step in you need time to play the game and run things obviously - can be hard work and frantic so put together a nice simple fast playing army..... or maybe play to just 2000 points?

I have systems in place (read: casual tournament!) that should allow me to play if I'd like :-) Self regulated score board for one!

Hopefully I'll be able to make this, I can supply 4000+ points of Orks for the Sunday thing (hopefully more like 5k by Jan, but we'll see...).

More the merrier :-)

Several AWESOME announcements for everybody already on board and some things to tickle the fancy of those that are not!

Discount for Tournament Go-ers
Firstly: Our Proud Sponsors 'Cut and Thrust Wargaming' are pleased to announce a MASSIVE 15% DISCOUNT to any Winter Warmer Attendees off of most available stock! They can get hold of Hordes, Warmachine, 40k, WFB, Flames of War, Malifaux...most things, Army Painter Products...etc.
For LARGE ORDERS please feel free to RING THE STORE about a month in advance (2 weeks time) so as to make the most of it and guarentee it'll be in store on the day for you.

Tis not a real english man that does not quaff Ale
We've decided to get a keg of Bath Ale (or 2!) in for the weekend: A 1-2 (price TBA) gold coin donation will get you a 'ticket' which you can exchange for a fine pint :-). Cans of cider and lager may also be available for a smaller donation but the focus is on ALE!!! (Bring a tankard!)

Winter Warmer Epic Bring and Buy!
It's a Bring and Buy, at the Winter Warmer! (Epic related goods only please as we don't want to detract from the store's wares). Bring your unwanted minis and trade/sell/buy to your hearts delight. We'll be running this during lunch so have things ready to be displayed on one of several clear benches provided. Lunch will be a bit longer as we've no limit on when the tourney has to end proper (though I'm aiming for 6/7pm)

Things to do on satuday night?
Last time we kept on drinking in store, ordered in some pizza and took to field 2000pts of war engines each in a grand battle to the death (very quick way of playing epic!). We could repeat that this year and stay in store or we could all go out for what seems to be becoming the traditional UK tourney scene curry: expressions of interest via here please :-).

Accomodation
For those that are joining us for the Big Bash on Sunday day (which, btw, is being playtested in the next two weeks with a nice looking batrep to accompany) I thought I'd mention the obvious dearth of accomodation options that exist in Bristol. One good idea might be for all those that are staying over to get in touch with Bristol Backpackers and rent themselves out an exclusive Geek's only dormitory? I'll leave that up to you lot though.

See, AWESOME, huh?
Yrs,
R>

OK! I've persuaded Marcus to come down as well, just looking into accommodation.

Do we need to pay in advance or is it just turn up with £7.50* in loose change for the 2 days?

*plus beer money

@Man of Kent,

Is there room for any more participants?

Due to a convenient change in work, i am able to make the Saturday - and i live local to boot!

One problem may be that so far i've only had 2 games of EA! (hoping to get the third in this sunday) but i can do a 3K army of chaos marines, and would love to get the chance ot see how some more experienced opponents play. So, are easy meat opponents acceptable...?

More people always welcome steve: just turn up on the day and have your army list submitted to me ready for the 8th of January: the EA scene in the UK is pretty informal and laid back and you won't find a single player not willing to help you out with any rules queries :-)...in fact some may also point out any massive tactical mistakes you make during a game (no point winning due to an opponents inexperience)!

QFT; I'd rather both players have fun than win by exploiting inexperience.

Just had a cool idea:

The result of the big Orks vs. Imperium battle on the Sunday will be written into the storyline of the Orks vs. Imperium supplement I'm working on. Particularly notable events or actions by particular formations or characters etc. can also be written into the story... there's a suitable big battle in the storyline that I think can be nudged to be made to fit.

Panic not - Dom's played once and is fielding a titanless marine army :), EW WILL earn a wooden spoon!
