Those models are gorgeous. I have no plans for a Chaos army right now, but i might see about getting some of those for pure painting purpose.

Lovely arachnids.

Some defile-ized cutlery monsters, ready for priming. Uberchris helped out tremendously in providing bits and ideas for the weapons. The autocannon on the right arm socket is a pared-down stubber insert from a manchurian macaroni tank (Otterware). The battle cannon on the left arm is an ork autocannon, then I glued an attack bike multimelta on the outside to serve as a flamer. I kept part of the blade so the arm would remain choppy, justifying the MW in the stats.

And, done-diddly-one:

Based up and ready to go.

All that complaining on how hard the things were going to to be to put together and they're done in about a month, ready to get all pinchy and stuff.

Not much progress these last couple of weeks with the US Thanksgiving holiday and all that, but some updates on my defiled defilers:

Here they are, primed black with a black-washed silver on the metal parts and suitably khorne-colored armor (red gore with red drybrush):

The Question then becomes, how to balance slaaneshification while still showing that these used to be khorne-affiliated daemon engines? My answer: leg-warmers! (she's a maniac, maniac, that's for sure!) Oh, the indignity:

I also black washed the red parts and dry brushed the metal with silver. I'm not sure what, if anything, more needs to be done with the weapons. I think I'll give them yellow eyes as well.
The armor plates are probably big enough for a defiled khorne symbol on one of them. One thing's for sure, they are now dancing like they've never danced before :P

Man, this really makes me want to design a non-ordered war machine of my own.

This thread has been dormant for too long... something must be done. Therefore, I have decided to change the scope of it from EC specific to a general gallery/blog for all my stuff. So here goes:

I have made some progress on two of my EC retinues, but haven't taken WIP pics yet. So, here is a little taste of IG. First up, the ubiquitous commissar in sentinel (as mentioned in another thread, called locally "Powerfoot." 6+ MW CC: 16% chance of a hit, 100% chance of pain!):
WIP: I repositioned the chicken leg and foot into mid-kick pose. The commissar is a torso and chainblade-arm from SMTL guardsman, head of a commissar Yarick for the E:A IG character pack, and an arm from Apoc's chaos bikes:
Image
The Chaos space marine is an older one (SMTL) with his legs repositioned to reflect the nut-(or gut)shot he's getting, along with a drilled hole to fit on the end of the powerfoot. I replaced the arms with an axe-arm and a regular one from the aforementioned chaos bikes (cheers Apoc!):

A couple more views:

And an initial coat of paint, wash, and some detail:
Image
The paintjob is model master sand with a couple coats of gryphon sepia and a drybrush of the sand. The powerfoot is blue. The chaos marine is white at this point 'cause he's going to be as close as possible to my friend Chris's Iron warriors scheme, which involves a few coats of black wash.

Nice job on the conversion, adds a good personal touch to the minature ;) very nice job, and a great idea to add the chaos marine getting his butt totally kicked ;)
