As every change I make seems to result in me being accused of following EpicUK stats (regardless of which came first) and polls are very popular at the moment I thought I'd get in on the act for nailing down the hellblade.

As for the vote: tough one. Better range or better AA...

I went for the better AA at shorter range as what Chaos forces need are better air defence, not more 'lucky shots needed from afar'

Also better to have a more useful plane in that price range rather than buying an activation.

I hate these polls however. Silent votes do one thing - allow those with private agendas to have a faceless say. So wrong.... I would rather proposals go up and discussed rather than have these donkey vote stations.

Surely the 30 cm option is simply better.

It makes for a cheaper fm, longer range (So greater choice of avoiding AA) and is still 6x shots @ 5+ on CAP or intercept - which is pretty freaking mean.

That's my gut view. That ability to stand-off and not take any AA fire from the various bombers/Thunderhawks you'll be intercepting outweighs losing a pip of to-hit, by my eye, or at least is equal in power.

You know. Compare the Wh40k weapons of the Thunderbolt with the Epic non-true stat version and you will get this:

Thunderbolt
40k = Epic
2 x Twin Autocannon = Storm Bolters 15cm AP4+/AA5+
Twin Lascannon = Multilaser 30cm AP5+/AT6+/AA5+
2 x Hellstrike Missiles = Underwing Rockets 30cm AT4+

Now do the same with the Hell Blade and you will get this:

Hell Blade
40k = Epic
2 x Twin Autocannon = Storm Bolters 15cm AP4+/AA5+

Aircraft do have a problem in epic with the same name same stats as already they tack on AA and the platform is just too different from a ground unit.

No. Reaper Autocannons have a shorter range than Twin Autocannons (36" than 48" = 30cm than 45cm).
The Storm Blade has 2 x Twin Autocannon in Wh40k NOT 2 x Reaper Autocannons.

And 2 x Twin Autocannons on aircrafts are miraculously transformed into Storm Bolters as you can see with the Thunderbolt.

Even then, you get some that are same name, same platform, different stats, like the Heavy Bolters on the Thunderhawk. Two get 30cm in a limited arc, and the other two are 15cm.

Hmm, Air weapons stats are notorious for being 'overpowered', so in effect they have all been toned down. I suspect that has in turn resulted in other weapons being substituted to be more acceptable to the purists (though perhaps not all - - BL? )

Then rename the Thunderbolts Storm Bolter to uhmmm Reaper Autocannon

wouldn't it be better to ask, which is more chaos-like? surely being up close is more there style, so 15cm would be the best choice
