That is a thing of beauty though :D

at 1/350th compared to Epic 1/300th, it's a tad too small :)

they'll scale a little off for the forgeworld stuff, but they should look about right for the SG stuff (especially titans, which are too small and look ridiculous next to aircraft. put a forgeworld thunderbolt next to an imperator to see what i mean)

FW and SG scales the titans in the same way at the moment... under scaled. But the SG aircrafts are under scaled while FW's ain't.

Compared to any "truescale" aircraft (like FW ones) or Epic infantry and tank models, that USS Nimitz model is too small :)

The USS Nimitz is 333m long IRL, which means this model, at 1/350th, is probably about 95cm long. In Epic, 1/300th, it would have to be 1.11 meters long...

A 150m long Leviathan (as described in some of BL books) would in fact translate into a 50cm model in epic :)

If you see the thunderbolts dimension (quoted from lexicanum, but I think they got their number from FW books), a thunderbolt is 14.2m long and has a wingspan of 16.06m.

This should translate strictly, in 1/300th scale, into a 4.7cm long, and 5.3 cm wide aircraft model. Keep in mind that real life aircrafts are often actually bigger than that !

A F15 fighter is 19.43m long, and has a wingspan of 13.05m.

As a comparison, a M1 Abrams is actually a bit less than 10m long (almost half the length of a F15) and only 3.66m wide.

Aircrafts, even single crew fighters, are much larger than we usually envision.

(oups, sorry for the double post :-\)

Where i work we've got the British Aerospace EAP fighter, it always amazes me just how big the things are!

Ah but the older generation of fighters even the MiG 21 in service today are smaller and the MiG 17? and the like tiny! (Though bigger than the tanks of its day.)

Just checked ! well, while a MIG21 is certainly smaller, specially in wingspan (7.15m), it is still 15m long. Still longer than any massed produced tank I think, with 14.5m length (and still a bit longer than a thunderbolt).

I think we would have to see pre-jet reactor era fighters to get smaller planes : A zero is about 9m long and 12m wide for example. The spitfire was in the same range of size too.

As for tanks, well even the monstrous 200T Panzer VII "Maus" prototype was about 10m long.

However they have released some images to scale with their ships. The tanks pictured do look like they'll be about the right size for a Land Raider proxy, and the larger land fortress look to be a little bigger than a FW SHT.

I am trying to find a comparison photo which has a Dark Realm Pax Arcadia buggy on it.

Want to compare it with a rhino or any E:A miniature.
