The Raven Guard aren't known Assault Marine fanatics either, thank you very much. They're Scout, Drop Pod and rapid-reaction fanatics - and Codex into the bargain. If anything, foot assault marines are out of character for them.

Would you really take the firepower over the superior Movement and Armour every time?

My own view: with the deficiency in the Thunderfire stats, I see it as an equal decision depending on the role that needs to be served.

With the Thunderfire as it is, I would take double the range and twice the shots over the Vindicator upgrade every time.

Hmm. I'm gonna have to take them myself then and see what all the fuss is. I just think that 10cm move is a killer unless they have nowhere to go fast.

I have updated the Imperial Fists to V0.6 on the first page. We are getting there ;D

Changes:
- Decreased cost of Assault troops to 150 points. This is also in line with the Apocrypha list allowing play tests to share in the data.
- Decreased cost of Thunderfire Defence Battery to 250 points.
- Added missing Thunderbolt and Marauder stats to the quick reference
- Removed Castellan stats from the quick reference
- Reduced width of minefield to 2.5cm


Considerations
- Vindicators: kept at 225 points for now. Concern is over not straying too far from the Vanilla List which has the formation at 275 points. This is also in line with the Apocrypha list allowing play tests to share in the data.

The non-jump assault troops are in Ravenguard primarily for the option to planetfall with them - either in pods or caestus. I suppose they'd also be okay for air assault, but that's still a deepstrike option in any case.

Hi frogbear,

at your version 0.6 whirlwinds can get an upgrade with vindicators but not with whirlwinds. An copy/paste error? The whirlwind upgrade is useless?

Oh crap. Yes, you are correct. It should say Whirlwind instead of Vindicator

I will get that changed today. Thanks for the pick up - no idea how I missed that :)

Change
- Vindicator Upgrade replaced with Whirlwind Upgrade under Whirlwind Battery selection

Hoping that this change will be the last (pending any further errors) for a short period to gain a few games worth of feedback.

Silly thought - Have you considered including The Phalanx as a mega-spacecraft? Probably too silly to be worth considering, but it is supposed to follow the Imperial Fists just about wherever they go.
