I actually suggested that very idea but was shot down .

For some reason L4's sixth sense hit very close to home yet again. Must be all those years of military training or something :p

Anyway: Zombo sent me these new renders, which are about to be prototyped. What is it, you ask? Well, obviously the cat's out of the bag that a new race is coming: These are the basic conscript footsloggers of the new Royal Empire army. Poorly trained and equipped these guys are little more than cannonfodder used to hold ground while the Nobles stride forward seeking honour and glory on the battlefield.
It is also a bit of an experiment as it is EWs first attempt with 3d sculpted infantry, but fingers crossed the final casts will be every bit as good as these pixel versions by Zombocom. There's a whole range of new and exciting stuff that will be sculpted over the next months, so stay tuned for updates

Viewing the miniatures up close like this makes the weapons look rather chubby, but obviously this has been a consideration for casting purposes, and as you can see in the final picture, it is really not that bad when compared to a GW IG infantryman.
