A picture-heavy thread showcasing a scratch-built WM Demon army, Hexon scenics, and an eldar/IG scrum.

looks good man, nice and portable too, have you thought about cutting one in half so you dont have the over hang on one side and theny ou can use the other half to fill the gaps on the other side giving you a nice square edge.

Looks great though, nice and luch fields to spill blood into :)

Yes, it'd be nice to be able to square them off using half-hexes: Geohex did this for its hex-system.

The Hexon hexes are plastic, so that kind of field modification would be a big project. And once you start 'half-hexing,' it's "oops, now I need East-West oriented half-hexes too..." And then four quarter-hexes for the corner.

:-). Sounds like more fun to flip the hexes over and make some rivers.

I've toyed with hexes at shows, but really for me I think it takes something away from the look of a table. It all though i think comes down to taste really.

Something I would consider is a 6mm version of these latex tables and terrain that seems to be increasingly popular at larger scales. Thats a nifty and flat packable idea!

Yes, I was sorely tempted by Zuzzy's terrain mats: www.zuzzy.com. But I was never able to get a sense of how well they'd adjust to 'hills' placed underneath them. I was also quite tempted by the idea of using small cuts of the mat instead of flocking, but it proved to be pretty hard to work with.
