If ulric doesn't have anything you need, I'd also be interested in the Demolishers and have a few metal and plastic Orky buggies and tracks to trade, so let me know if a trade isn't worked out between you guys! I might also be interested in the E40k Russes.

I'm assuming the Demolishers are the E40k ones, and not the E:A ones, right?

the older russ have bits like sand bags on the front cammo nets over battle cannon and are just cast and made like some one loved thier job

the newer ones are ok but very bland, and look like the moulds need replaceing.

i'll sort out some photos of the tanks later

@ Lockable:

The old E40k ones were made in many and varied parts, and the parts were designed to be cast as such.

When E:A re-released these models, they just picked one parts configuration and then assembled it and cast as a two piece model. Because the parts were effectively re-used, the undercuts and such were never intended for casting in this way and were all wrong for the new mould setup. As a result the detail on the new E:A tanks is very substantially worse than their older E40k equivalents. You are also stuck with all the tanks looking identical - which is fine if it the base model, but looks stupid if every tank has the exact same sandbag/camo net/extra armour/crew modifications.

I don't understand why GW didn't just reduce the parts to one configuration, but leave each tank's component count alone (so offer only one hull type for example, but still have the tracks and hull cast separately).

Which would also have avoided the rather stupid error with tracks attached the wrong way on the Hellhound and Hydras.

I'd imagine that GW has problems with packing peons -- "I got two left tracks" would be an all-too-common error, as it seems to be with Forgeworld.

(which may be why I won 6 left-legs from a Hierophant in an ebay auchtion a while ago).

I'd normally agree, but since the track pairs in E40k were often quite specific, they actually came in pairs on their own. The connections between the halves was quite sturdy too (and therefore needed some effort to trim off and clean up).

I reckon it was just laziness; they needed a new mould if they weren't going to offer the older component variety and figured they could get twice as many tanks out of it in one go if they made them two pieces. I am a bit surprised that they feel the resulting quality is acceptable though - usually they do care about the casting quality of their models rather more, and especially at £30 for 10 figs...

Anyway, apologies for all the off-topic chat! I was interested in the Demolishers if there E40k, but otherwise not. Thanks for the clarification! :)
