Date wise, if a second London Tournament can't fit into an emptyish slot in the calendar (April), a one dater the same weekend (or close to) Britcon would be nice. The thinking is that a cheap one dayer in the South might not draw too many players away from the expensive three dayer in the North!

Alternatively, a gaming day would attract a different crowd than a tournament so in theory numbers at existing tournaments will not be too disrupted.

I had similar thoughts rug. However April and July are currently free. We'd want to hear from ginger what his thinking is. He'll probably be ok with April though.

In those months we could go for standard tournaments, but yes if we do have to share a month with one of the northern tournaments then I reckon a Bristol Winter Warmer type format would be better... something a little looser and crazier.

I've wondered if a "campaign day" type thing might work, like Imperial lists versus Ork lists, or something.

I thought about that too. Personally I think a competition would be more popular, even if it's a less 'formal' one like the Bristol winter Warmer.

So we have three choices

EUK style - EUK lists only, Standard Scenario
BWW style - All kinds of mad lists and mad scenarios
Campaign - some races might not be able to take part because they don't fit into the campaign narrative. We'd have to dream something up that didn't exclude too much. possibly meaning a rather abstract campaign system.

I'd add Rug's suggestion too:

- Tournament using EUK lists and also lists from published NetEA supplements (Raiders & Siege)

There's a black and white low resolution copy here:

The full quality colour version isn't up yet. The final version also had some minor layout edits done and some re-writes to a few background texts.

Nope I'm saying that the printed version of Siege is more recent than that black and white version I linked to earlier.

I think London seems to suit one day tourneys best, unless we can get a lot of good accommodation sorted!

Me and Gavin have oft discussed campaign events as well.

I also do like the escalation model of points. Something like 2000/2000/2700/3000 for a long one day tourney somewhere like the cock with no kicking out, or other odd ideas like 2000, 2000, then both the previous added together or the same 2000 expanded to 4000.

I would also love to go to a tourney where you could bring 2 different army lists for the same race and once you know what race you are playing choose one :)

Differing points + army compositions like Botc this year where we picked a 2000pt army and 2 750pt armies and then played 2000+A, 2000+B and 3 3500 forces are definitely fun and workable.

I personally would be against the 2 army lists and you choose the one you want by opposition idea - at the moment you generally have to pick a mixed force to account for a variety of opponents, with this you could- and people will, max out your army for different oppnents.

For what it's worth, I have little interest in ranked 2-day Epic competitions but would welcome and support with presence and cash 1-day gaming events w/ 3 or 4 games in a single day.

In the past Gavin's event has been a 1 day standard tourny followed by a 1 day tourny with funny armies allowed, which generally descend into a simple gaming day.

I expect that this year Gavin's event will again be a 1 day standard tourny, but whether the second gaming day will happen will depend on demand.

For the second london event I myself would prefer a single day with 3 games. (I understand that some people prefer 2 days, and some don't)
Anyway, I'm not too fussed about whether it's EUK, EUK with Raiders and Siege, BWW, Botch style or a campaign; depends on when it's going to happen and therefore what kind of crowd we hope to attract. But, with only 1 Standard tournament in the south I'd like to see a second if at all possible.
