One minor hiccough for me is that I have no idea where it is.

Are Epic: Armageddon players in the UK concentrated around Nottingham and the Northeast, or is that simple coincidence?

There are 'critical masses' in the East Midlands, Manchester, Bristol area (I think?) and with games played at venues at least once a week. Used to be rising numbers in MK but that has fallen off recently and I'm not as keen to go campaigning as I once was (lot's of other games to play!).

Sure there are lots more poeple playing epic now and again out there, they are just disconnected from the Hive mind :)

The other clincher is that until the North West Gaming center opened the only large dedicated gaming halls were in Nottingham and Mansfield.

Alan's 6mm Cock Fest

Sounds very suspicious

Well the cock does at least have plenty of space and facilities (gaming tables),
Also it's within walking distance of euston rail and underground so it's easy to get to by public transport. Especially if you're coming from the north west. Edit: and not far from St Pancras/Kings Cross so easy access from east midlands / north east

I have no idea if there's interest in a second London event but there's plenty up north and southern epic players may want to take advantage of something a little more local.

Express your interest here!

It's about 5 minutes walk from Euston staition or 10 minutes walk from Kings Cross St Pancras, basically between the two.

I'd be interested in a second London tournament per year.

Or a third, or fourth. :-)

In the past The Perseverance has also accommodated a 1-day tournament on a Saturday (3 games of FoG in 1 day). The Perseverance is, in my opinion, a more laid-back pub but can only do 6 tables instead of the Cock Tavern's 10 or so.

From experience of the inaugural Epic London I'd suggest the Cock can do 9 tables ok, 10 was one to far!

If people want to run events, run them. I'd suggest looking at the Epic-UK calendar to try and avoid clashes, and if you email details of your event to tournaments@epic-uk.co.uk we will ensure they get added to the calendar. The Epic-UK committee will help were we can but we already run 3 events and aren't looking to run more events (as far as I know!).

In the next 6 weeks there are 3 epic events running, with 15, 10 and 19 people signed up to each. I'm not sure Epic could sustain a constant 2 events a month, but if you are happy to run with 8 - 10 people at an event I don't think you would be disappointed.

A min of 8 would be fine with me. Though I'd like the 'primary' london event to get a few more participants next year
No need for EUK to run it, I'm sure we can manage :)

London this year suffered from a moving date and the great TC crash!

I don't think picking a bank holiday weekend was good either, as lots of people went on holiday.

I'm awaiting an official announcement but there should be very good news for all previous Britcon entrants regarding next year. Watch this space or the BHGS website.

Alternatively, a gaming day would attract a different crowd than a tournament so in theory numbers at existing tournaments will not be too disrupted.

Aye the Bristol event attracted a different crowd to the usual EUK lot, and was over subscribed IIRC.
